The present invention provides a glitter pigment capable of simultaneously achieving electromagnetic wave transmission properties, a high reflectance in appearance, and a neutral color in appearance. The glitter pigment according to the present invention includes: a glass flake 1; and a titanium oxide layer 2 and a silver layer 3 formed in this order on the glass flake 1, wherein a product of the optical thickness of the glass flake 1 and the optical thickness of the titanium oxide layer 2 is 61000 or more and 66000 or less when the optical thickness is expressed in nm, and the silver layer 3 has a physical thickness of 35 nm or more and 55 nm or less.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING PLATELET-SHAPED PIGMENTS
A method is provided for producing platelet-shaped pigments, including the steps of: providing a film structure which has a carrier substrate, a water-soluble release layer and a pigment material layer; mechanically disrupting the pigment material layer, which is present in the film structure, at specific locations; soaking the film structure with aqueous solution; subjecting the film structure to a mechanical force so that the pigment material layer is detached from the carrier substrate as a plurality of pigments according to the ruptures present at the specific locations.

It has been found that bismuth can be milled into pigment platelets. A metallic pigment comprises bismuth metal and an organic additive. The pigment is platelet shaped. In addition, the platelet shaped pigment comprising bismuth metal can be produced by physical vapor deposition (PVD) methods. In some embodiments, the metallic pigment comprises multiple layers.
Matched interference pigments or foils having viewing angle dependent mismatch
A method of providing a configuration of a system of interference filters with a visible color shifting effect, includes: a hue matching step of identifying a configuration of a first interference filter including two first metal layers and a first spacer layer therebetween, and a configuration of a second interference filter including two second metal layers and a second spacer layer therebetween, wherein the first and second filters match in hue at the first viewing angle, and the mismatch in hue at the second angle; and a lightness adjustment step which may include modifying the layer material or the layer thickness of one of the metal layers; wherein a difference in lightness at the first viewing angle between the first and second modified filters is less that a difference in lightness at the first viewing angle between the first and second filters.
