Compositions for Antifouling Protection
The present invention relates to antifouling compositions comprising compounds of formula IA and/or IB that are highly effective against marine biofouling of surfaces of ships and marine structures, their use for inhibiting marine biofouling, as well as antifouling paints comprising said compositions.
PRECURSOR POLYELECTROLYTE COMPLEXES COMPOSITIONS
The invention relates to compositions and methods of treatment employing compositions comprising polyelectrolyte complexes. The compositions include a water-soluble first polyelectrolyte bearing a net cationic charge or capable of developing a net cationic charge and a water-soluble second polyelectrolyte bearing a net anionic charge or capable of developing a net anionic charge. The total polyelectrolyte concentration of the first solution is at least 110 millimolar. The composition is free of coacervates, precipitates, latex particles, synthetic block copolymers, silicone copolymers, cross-linked poly(acrylic) and cross-linked water-soluble polyelectrolyte. The composition may be a concentrate, to be diluted prior to use to treat a surface.
Low Temperature Cured Silicone Lubricious Coatings
Novel, lubricious coatings for medical devices are disclosed. The coatings provide improved lubricity and durability and are readily applied in coating processes a low temperatures that do not deform the device. The present invention is also directed to a novel platinum catalyst for use in such coatings. The catalyst provides for rapid curing, while inhibiting cross-linking at ambient temperatures, thereby improving the production pot life of the coatings.

ANTIMICROBIAL COATING FOR POLYMERIC FOOD PACKAGING
Provided herein are antimicrobial coating compositions and food packaging materials coated therewith. The coating compositions include at least one antimicrobial active agent and a hydrophilic polymer, such that the active agent is immobilized within the composition.
PASSIVATED SILVER NANOPARTICLE COATINGS AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
The instant disclosure is directed to passivated silver nanoparticle coatings and methods of making the same. A method may comprise obtaining a substrate having a surface, exposing the surface to a plurality of silver nanoparticles, applying a nucleating agent to the silver nanoparticles to form a plurality of silver cores, and passivating the silver cores by applying a sulfidation agent to the silver cores to form silver sulfide shells around the silver cores, thereby forming a coating comprising a plurality of sulfidated silver nanoparticles having a core-shell structure. The method may be used to form a coating comprising a plurality of sulfidated silver nanoparticles having a core-shell structure.
