PAINT REMOVER HAVING REDUCED FLAMMABILITY
A composition comprises dimethyl carbonate (DMC) and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and has a flash point of 70 F. or greater. The composition has a total VOC content defined by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of 50 weight percent (%) or less. The composition removes or strips paint in a period of time of two hours or less. The composition may further comprises one or more corrosion inhibitors.
CLEANING SOLUTION
The present invention provides cleaning solutions for removing ink, coating, varnish, adhesive, etc. residue from printing equipment. The cleaning solutions of the present invention comprise one or more solvents, preferably selected from acetoacetates, alcohols, glycol ethers, glycol esters, terpenes, and water, and are preferably free of surfactants. The cleaning solutions of the invention have a relative evaporation time (RET) of less than 60 seconds, and a ratio of the RET to the radius of the sphere of solubility of the resin in the ink to be removed of less than 6.
Gel for removing graffiti and method for removing graffiti using said gel
The invention relates to a gel for removing a graffiti from a surface of a solid substrate, consisting of a colloidal solution comprising an inorganic viscosifying agent, at least one solvent, optionally at least one surfactant, and optionally at least one dye and/or pigment. The invention also relates to a method for removing a graffiti from a surface of a solid substrate, wherein the gel is applied to said surface.
COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING TRANS-1,2-DICHLOROETHYLENE AND AN ORGANIC COMPOUND, AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
Disclosed herein are a solvent composition and methods of using the solvent composition. The solvent composition includes at least 80 wt. % of trans-1,2-dichloroetheylene (t-DCE), and 0.1 to 20 wt. % of at least one organic compound. The organic compound may be a hydrocarbon and/or an oxygenated solvent. The solvent composition may be used to clean a surface by contacting the surface with the composition to dissolve a contaminant on the surface. The composition may be used to remove a coating from a surface of a substrate by contacting the surface with the solvent composition to dissolve the coating and removing the composition containing the coating from the surface. The composition may also be used to deposit material on a substrate by dissolving the material in the solvent composition, applying the composition containing the material onto the substrate, and evaporating the composition from the substrate.
COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR REMOVING A COATING FROM A SURFACE
A composition includes methyl acetate, dimethyl carbonate, acetone, or a combination thereof, dimethyl sulfoxide, methyl glyoxal, propylene carbonate, gamma butyrolactone, ethylene carbonate, 2-chloro-1-propanol, or a combination thereof, and optionally thiophene, 1,3-dioxolane, thioacetic acid, or a combination thereof. The respective amounts of each solvent are further described herein, and the total amounts of methyl acetate, dimethyl carbonate, acetone, dimethyl sulfoxide, methyl glyoxal, propylene carbonate, thiophene, 1,3-dioxolane, and thioacetic acid sum to at least 90 volume percent of the total volume of the composition. The composition can be particularly useful for removal of a coating from a surface. Accordingly, a method of removing a coating from a surface is also disclosed.
SUCTIONABLE GEL AND METHOD FOR ELIMINATING A CONTAMINATION CONTAINED IN A SURFACE ORGANIC LAYER OF A SOLID SUBSTRATE
A suctionable gel for eliminating a contaminating species contained in an organic layer on the surface of a material, consisting of a colloidal solution comprising, preferably consisting of: 1 wt % to 25 wt %, preferably 5 wt % to 20 wt % based on the total weight of the gel, of at least one inorganic viscosifying agent; 13 wt % to 99 wt %, preferably 80 wt % to 95 wt % based on the total weight of the gel, of an organic solvent selected among the terpenes and the mixtures thereof; optionally, 0.01 wt % to 10 wt %, based on the total weight of the gel, of at least one dye and/or pigment; optionally 0.1 wt % to 2 wt %, based on the total weight of the gel, of at least one surfactant. The disclosure further relates to a decontamination method using the gel.
Automotive paint remover composition and method of making
A chemical composition and method of making and using are provided for paint removal and/or for adhesive removal. The chemical composition comprises THF and a solvent selected from the group consisting of methyl acetate, acetone, dimethyl carbonate, propylene carbonate, and 1-chloro-4 (trifluoromethyl) benzene, and a combination thereof.
Methods of reducing the adhesion of a maskant
A method for reducing adhesion between a maskant and a substrate, wherein the maskant is adhered to a surface of the substrate, the method comprising applying a composition to the maskant.
WATER BASED ADHESIVE REMOVAL COMPOSITION
A water based adhesive removal composition which is effective and non-residual on magnesium and alloys comprises an alkali, a main solvent, a volatilization inhibitor, a cosolvent, a corrosion inhibitor, a penetrant, a thickening agent, a surface active agent, and water. The water based adhesive removal composition is water-based formula, the water-based formula is not easy to volatilize and is not flammable. When being used to remove adhesive attached on the magnesium alloy component, there is no risk of magnesium ignition.
