BIODEGRADABLE MATERIAL
A novel biodegradable material for use in packaging applications, including food packaging applications, is provided. The disclosed biodegradable material is simple and cost efficient to manufacture, provides a superior water vapor barrier and/or oxygen barrier that is superior to prior art biodegradable and/or compostable materials used in packaging applications, and can withstand exposure to a wide variety of physical and chemical environments.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A TOY USING A MODEL FRAME IN LIQUID AND AN APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING A METHOD
A method of manufacturing a toy using a model frame in liquid includes: filling a water tank; dissolving calcium chloride, a powder component, into the water filled in the water tank; wherein the amount of calcium chloride is determined in anticipation of the degree of gelation by chemical action with sodium alginate, filling a liquid paint to the model frame; wherein the liquid paint is comprised water 96 wt. %, CNC 0.99 wt. %, sodium alginate 3 wt. %, luminous material 0.01 wt. % or water 91 wt. %, CNC 1 wt. %, sodium alginate 3 wt. %, shiny material 5 wt. % or water 96 wt. %, CNC 0.99 wt. %, sodium alginate 3 wt. %, color conversion material 0.01 wt. %; immersing the model frame filled with the liquid paint in the water tank; solidifying and shrinking the liquid paint filled in the model frame immersed in the water tank; and shaking the model frame.

Method for the preparation of a sausage mixture coating gel including high-pressure processing
A method for preparing an aqueous coating composition to be applied by co-extrusion around a food preparation and contacted with a gelling agent, such as calcium chloride, to form a shell around the food preparation. After mixing at least the water and the alginate of the composition, the mixture is exposed to a high pressure of at least 1400 bar, for example at least 1800 bar, for at least 0.1 second.

Hydrophilic coating material, method of producing hydrophilic coating film, and inkjet recording head
A hydrophilic coating material including an alginic acid compound and a resin, in which the alginic acid compound is granulated and dispersed in the resin. In a coating film using the material, it is preferred that the granulated alginic acid compound is exposed on the surface. Such a hydrophilic coating film is suitable as a hydrophilization treatment film of a nozzle face surface of an inkjet recording head.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THROWABLE PAINTBALLS AND PAINTBALLS MADE THEREFROM
A method of encapsulating content with calcium alginate membrane to form a capsule. The method includes embedding sodium alginate into a traditional gelatin ribbon used in gelatin encapsulation, adding calcium to a fill material, encapsulating the fill material, and then denaturing the gelatin in the shell. An exemplary use of this method is to form throwable paintballs; however, other products could be formed using this process. A paintball formed by this process is also disclosed.
