LIGHT WEIGHT MODULAR POUCH ATTACHMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
A 3 dimensional shape retaining light weight pouch and method for making the same, for mounting on a carrier such as a garment such as, but not limited to, a vest, belt, cummerbund, pack, or the like, and more particularly, that utilizes standing portions of stiffened fused together edges of laminated or composite panels of the pouch to hold the pouch in a predetermined 3 dimensional shape. The pouch is durable and wear resistant, allows easy insertion and removal of articles, accessories, and objects to be held and/or carried thereby, and is simple and easy to manufacture, while being configurable to be compatible with some known systems mounting systems such as MOLLE PALS and the like.
Portable head support for sleeping
An easily storable, flat neck support device for sleeping is described herein. The neck support device consists of flat, rigid panels in geographic shapes enclosed in a fabric. The fabric has fasteners. The shapes are arranged so that the folding of the fabric allows the fasteners to hold the shapes in place, forming a structure the holds a user's head in place to allow for rest or sleep, for instance when traveling on an airplane.
DEVICES AND ACCESSORIES EMPLOYING A LIVING HINGE
A device incorporating both a magnet and a living hinge may be employed to construct cases to protect electronic devices and to function as a closure for cases and lidded containers. Such cases often can be bent three 360 allowing the cases to be either closed protecting devices therein are closed upon themselves allowing the case to function to secure an electronic device to a substrate such as an article of clothing. The devices of the disclosure can also be used to organize and hold loose items together.
Wearable assembly for transporting articles while engaged in sports
A first example of the object transport assembly includes a body attachment member adapted to attach to a wearer and an object attachment member adapted to attach to an object to be transported. An insert including a notch formed therein is carried on one of the body attachment member or object attachment member and forms a male portion of a dovetail joint. An insert receiving channel is carried on the other of the body attachment member or object attachment member and forms a female portion of a dovetail joint that mates with the insert. The insert receiving channel includes a pin that is biased in such a way that the pin automatically slides into the notch when the insert mates with the insert receiving channel. An actuator is operably connected to the pin and is operable to move the pin out of the notch for removal of the insert from the insert receiving channel.

System and method for activated interlocking fasteners and seals
An active interlocking fastener system is adapted to control an interlock in response to an external stimulus. The interlocking fastener system includes a first element including a plurality of first interlocking fasteners. The interlocking fastener system also includes a second element including a plurality of second interlocking fasteners configured to couple to the first plurality of interlocking fasteners. The plurality of first interlocking fasteners or the plurality of second interlocking fasteners includes a reactive material configured to vary a mechanical engagement between the plurality of first interlocking fasteners and the plurality of second interlocking fasteners as a function of the external stimulus.
HOOK AND LOOP ARTIFICIAL MUSCLES
A method for manufacturing a separable artificial muscle fastener includes: securing one or more muscle loops of an artificial muscle fiber to a substrate such that at least a portion of the one or more muscle loops extends out from the substrate; annealing the artificial muscle fiber to retain the one or more muscle loops; and cutting and removing a portion of the one or more muscle loops to transform the one or more muscle loops into one or more muscle hooks. When the one or more muscle hooks are engaged with one or more holders, actuating the one or more muscle hooks disengages the one or more muscle hooks from the one or more holders.
Attachment device and method of fabricating an attachment device
An attachment device includes a webbing matrix having an elastic property in at least one direction, and a gripping member fixedly connected to a first distal end the webbing matrix. The device further includes a first hook or loop material disposed proximate a second distal end and on a first side of the webbing matrix, and on a second corresponding hook or loop material disposed proximate the first distal end and on a second side of the webbing matrix. The device further includes a series of gripping elements being infused into the second side of the webbing matrix, and a fastening device disposed on the first side of the webbing matrix, where the fastening device includes a thin flexible base material surrounding a perimeter of the fastening device, the thin flexible base material fixedly connected to the webbing matrix.
Laser weldable hook-and-loop fastener
A laser weldable hook-and-loop fastener contains a laser light transmitting male-type molded hook-and-loop fastener (A) and a laser light absorbing layer (B) formed of a thermoplastic resin, which is integrated on the back surface of the male-type molded hook-and-loop fastener (A). The male-type molded hook-and-loop fastener (A) has a base plate and a large number of male-type engaging elements rising from the surface of the base plate. The male-type engaging elements and the base plate are formed of the same resin selected from a polyester elastomer and a polyamide, the male-type engaging elements are arranged in a row, and the laser light absorbing layer (B) has an infrared absorptance of 85% or more at a wavelength of 980 nm.
DIMENSIONALLY FLEXIBLE TOUCH FASTENER STRIP
A fastening strip for touch fasteners is provided which includes a corrugated portion as well as fastening elements. The corrugated portion allows the strip to be bent in a plane perpendicular as well as parallel with the longitudinal axis of the strip such that it may be applied to curved surfaces and remain substantially flat. Fastening elements such as hooks, loops, mushroom-shaped, bulbous and double hooks may be included on both sides of the strip and on the walls of the channels that form the corrugations as well as between the corrugations. The corrugated fastening strips may be useful for automotive seating and diaper applications. Processes for forming the corrugated fastening strip area also disclosed.
