FLEXIBLE FASTENING STRAP
An elongated fastening strap of touch fastener material has a head with a grommet defining a slot through which the other end of the strap is received. Selective interference at the ends of the slot with the width of the strap alter the resistance to motion within the slot. The grommet provides a smooth surface within the slot.
DOUBLE-SIDED FASTENERS
A method for forming a double-sided loop strap includes: receiving a continuous longitudinal strip of loop material including a strip-form base bearing a field of upstanding loops on a fastening side of the strip bounded by opposite longitudinal edges, folding each of the longitudinal edges away from the fastening side, such that the base overlaps itself, and securing the folded edges in place by permanently bonding together overlapped areas of the base to form the double-sided loop strap.
Touch screen electronic device with at least one fastener member, and the kit and method for placing, holding and mounting such devices using at least one hook and one loop of fastener technology
The present invention discloses a kit for holding and mounting portable electronic devices in different places quickly and easily; comprising at least one electronic devices, at least one adhesive accessory, and at least one case, cover, or protective cover for strap; where each of these parts comprises at least one hook and loop fastening element, positioned, joined, adapted, adhered, coupled, configured, connected and adjusted to its structure; The whole kit provides a greater level of versatility, maneuverability, and practicality to the functions of the electronic device. Any of the parts of the kit, whether the case, cover, or protective cover, the accessory, and the strap; they may be joined and separated when convenient by the user, thanks to the provisions, features, and characteristics of the hook and loop fastener that each of these possess; which generates an adhesive union without the need to use tools or alternative elements and materials. Finally, the kit presentation is provided in one or more colors, shapes or special designs; including transparent designs to provide consumers with options to meet the needs of their devices. In addition, the kit appears in a variety of shapes, designs, sizes and types for any desired utility.
Self-binding strap device and method for using same
A bi-stable spring band device that is covered substantially along its entire length with Velcro or similar fastening material, where one side of the device is covered substantially along its length with Velcro hook material and the opposing side of the device is covered substantially along its length with corresponding Velcro loop material. When the device is curled into a rolled-up configuration by application of the bi-stable band, its opposing Velcro hook and loop surfaces can fasten together to form a secure strap that is strong enough to hold weighted articles in the air or to securely connect one article to another.
ENERGY DISSIPATING TOUCH FASTENER LINKS
An energy dissipating link for a tether includes: an elongated base having opposite, first and second end portions; a first touch fastener permanently coupled to the base proximate the first base end portion; and a second touch fastener permanently coupled to the base proximate the second base end portion. The second touch fastener is engageable with the first touch fastener to form a releasable closure defining a shear plane. With the first and second touch fasteners engaged to transmit a tensile load between the first and second end portions, and with the engaged touch fasteners loaded in shear in the shear plane, the base includes a longitudinally slack idler section between the first and second end portions. The idler section of the base is configured to transmit tensile load upon an energy-dissipating shear disengagement of the first and second touch fasteners by a tensile overload.
MULTI-CLOSURE ENERGY DISSIPATING TOUCH FASTENER LINKS
An energy dissipating link includes: an elongated base having opposite, first and second end portions; and a plurality of touch fasteners permanently coupled to the base, each of the plurality of touch fasteners releasably engageable with at least one other of the touch fasteners. The plurality of touch fasteners is arranged on the base to form first and second closures, each including engagements between respective fastening elements of two or more of the plurality of touch fasteners. The plurality of touch fasteners is configured such that: in response to a tensile load applied to the end portions of the base, the engaged touch fasteners of the first closure are loaded in shear along a shear plane; and in response to a tensile overload condition causing shear displacement of the touch fasteners of the first closure, the engaged touch fasteners of the second closure are subjected to a peel load.
HOOK-AND-LOOP FASTENER PROVIDED WITH HOLLOW WOVEN PART
A hook-and-loop fastener including a base cloth composed of warps, a weft, and engaging element yarns and engaging elements formed of the engaging element yarns and provided on a surface of the base cloth. The hook-and-loop fastener includes a hollow woven part satisfying at least four specific requirements.
Releasable fastenings with barriers
A releasable fastening features a first fastening strip including an elongated, flexible base carrying an array of discrete fastener elements arranged in rows and columns, and a second fastening strip configured to releasably engage with the first fastening strip. The first fastening strip also includes a longitudinally continuous rib supported by the upper surface of the base of the first fastening strip, the rib extending sufficiently far from the base of the first fastening strip to engage a sealing portion of the second fastening strip, and of a bending strength sufficiently low that the rib is placed in an elastically bent state, when the first and second fastening strips are in the engaged state, thereby forming with the sealing portion of the second fastening strip a non-interlocking barrier to resist flow across the fastening with the first and second fastening strips in the engaged state.
