A fastening device has a first fastening member with a plurality of teeth and a second fastening member with a plurality of sockets which are sequentially engagable in tooth and socket pairs in an engagement direction by relative rotation of the tooth and socket. Each tooth has a first surface and a second surface fixed relative to the first surface. Each socket has a recess defined by a first wall and second wall fixed relative to the first wall. Upon engagement, the first and second surfaces of the tooth abut the respective first and second walls of the recess and prevent relative movement of the tooth in the engagement direction and a portion of the first wall of the socket closely abutting the first surface of the tooth is disposed between the tooth and a portion of the first fastening member and prevents relative separation of the tooth and socket.

A slide fastener with which a slide fastener-attached product capable of preventing or suppressing exposure of a fastener tape can be manufactured is provided. The slide fastener includes fastener stringers and a slider, in which each of fastener elements includes an element base portion and a fin portion extending from the element base portion toward a tape inner side of a fastener tape and having a smaller dimension in a tape thickness direction than the element base portion, in which, at a shoulder-port-side end portion of a slider body, a leading end portion of the fin portion of each of the fastener elements is positioned on the outer side of the slider body with respect to an inner wall surface of a flange, and in which the ratio of a total fin width to an element maximum width is less than 40%.

SLIDE FASTENER AND SLIDE FASTENER-ATTACHED PRODUCT

A slide fastener with which a slide fastener-attached product capable of preventing or suppressing exposure of a fastener tape can be manufactured is provided. This invention relates to a fastener assembly and garment comprising same having a first fastener tape and a second fastener tape, and a first edge and a second edge, the first edge having a row of cooperating fastener elements mounted thereon; wherein the second edge of each of the first and second fastener tapes is folded parallel to its row of cooperating fastener elements such that when the fastener is closed, and a meshed area of fastener elements from the first and second fastener tapes is formed, i) the second edges of each of the first and second fastener tapes overlap, ii) the second edge of the first fastener tape fully covers the meshed area of fastening elements, and iii) the overlap of the second edge of the first fastener tape by the second edge of the second fastener tape extends past the meshed area of fastening elements.

This invention relates to a fastener assembly and garment comprising same having a first fastener tape and a second fastener tape, and a first edge and a second edge, the first edge having a row of cooperating fastener elements mounted thereon; wherein the second edge of each of the first and second fastener tapes is folded parallel to its row of cooperating fastener elements such that when the fastener is closed, and a meshed area of fastener elements from the first and second fastener tapes is formed, i) the second edges of each of the first and second fastener tapes overlap, ii) the second edge of the first fastener tape fully covers the meshed area of fastening elements, and iii) the overlap of the second edge of the first fastener tape by the second edge of the second fastener tape extends past the meshed area of fastening elements.

Waterproof slide fastener

A waterproof slide fastener with waterproof property in which covering the whole front and rear faces of a woven or knitted fastener tape with an elastomer, and fastener elements made of a thermoplastic resin are injection molded on the lateral edge of the fastener tape. In particular, a waterproof slide fastener that can maintain the watertightness and airtightness even when the fastener tape is bent in the lengthwise direction because, on the assumption that the minimum width between the outer end edges of the neck part of the fastener element in the lengthwise direction of the fastener tape that is a slide direction in which the slider slides is N and the width between the outer end edges of the body part of the fastener element in the same lengthwise direction is B, the value of B/N is between 2.5 and 3.5.

A waterproof slide fastener with waterproof property in which covering the whole front and rear faces of a woven or knitted fastener tape with an elastomer, and fastener elements made of a thermoplastic resin are injection molded on the lateral edge of the fastener tape.
