2-CYANOACRYLATE COMPOSITION HAVING MAGNETISM
There is provided a one-pack type room-temperature-curable 2-cyanoacrylate based composition having magnetism. The 2-cyanoacrylate based composition having magnetism is characterized by containing (a) a 2-cyanoacrylic acid ester and (b) a magnetic powder dispersible in the 2-cyanoacrylic acid ester, wherein the content of the magnetic powder (b) is 5 to 500 parts by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of the 2-cyanoacrylic acid ester (a). The magnetic powder (b) is preferably a stainless steel.
TWO-PART CURABLE COMPOSITION
The present invention concerns a two-part curable composition comprising: •a first part (component A) comprising: —at least 51% by weight based on the total weight of the first part, of one or more cyanoacrylate monomer(s); —a transition metal complex; and—an antioxidant; •a second part (component B) comprising: —a per-compound; —at least one Michael acceptor M selected from the group consisting of (meth)acrylic monomers, (meth)acrylic functionalized oligomers, (meth)acrylic functionalized resins, and mixtures thereof; provided that the composition comprises (in the first part and/or in the second part) at least one compound C comprising a radical -EWG.sub.1-CH.sub.2-EWG.sub.2- wherein EWG.sub.2 and EWG.sub.1 are independently of each other an electron withdrawing group.

CONDUCTIVE POLYMERS WITH REDUCED RADIATIVE TRANSPORT AND EMISSIVITY FOR INSULATING MATERIALS
Described herein are materials and methods useful in the field of insulation, including building materials, refrigeration, cryogenics, and shipping, amongst others. Advantageously, the provided materials and method provide reduced radiative heat transfer by applying coatings to insulating materials in order to alter the emissivity, including in the infrared electromagnetic spectrum. Advantageously, the provided materials and methods, while increasing thermal conductivity, provide an overall reduction in heat transfer and therefore provide superior insulation.
Crosslinking of loose insulating powders
Described herein are materials and methods useful in the field of insulation, including building materials, refrigeration, cryogenics, and shipping, amongst others. Advantageously, the provided materials and method provide low thermal conductivities and increased mechanical strength, allowing for efficient insulating in a diverse range of applications. The provided materials and methods include individual particles connected by a polymer network that links individual particles and may include hollow or evacuated capsules and various strengthening agents.
Malonate and cyanoacrylate adhesives for joining dissimilar materials
The present teachings contemplate a method comprising providing a first and second substrate, locating an initiator onto a surface of the first or second substrate, the initiator including a substance for initiating polymerization of a polymerizable adhesive, locating the polymerizable adhesive onto a surface of the first and second substrate, the adhesive including a monofunctional, difunctional, or multifunctional methylene malonate, or cyanoacrylate, and contacting first and second substrate.
