Air and water barrier article with porous layer and liner
There is provided an article that includes a polymeric layer disposed on and covering a first major surface of an porous layer, an adhesive layer disposed on a second major surface of the elastic layer opposite the polymeric layer; and a liner disposed on a major surface of the polymeric layer opposite the first major surface of the elastic layer. The polymeric layer and the porous layer together form an air and water barrier that is water vapor permeable. The liner is water vapor impermeable. In a preferred embodiment the polymeric layer comprises a polyoxyalkylene polymer having at least one end group derived from an alkoxy silane. A method of applying the article to a surface of a building component is also provided.
DOUBLE PASS PROCESS OF MAKING A SELF ADHERING ROOFING MEMBRANE WITH IMPROVED ADHESION AT LOWER INSTALLATION TEMPERATURE
A self-adhering roofing membrane may include a polymeric membrane. The roofing membrane may include a first adhesive layer disposed on a major surface of the polymeric membrane. The first adhesive layer may include one or both of a hot melt adhesive and a butyl rubber-based adhesive. The roofing membrane may include a UV curable adhesive layer disposed on the first adhesive layer. The UV curable adhesive layer may have a thickness of less than about 4 mils.
Sealing tape with a functional layer
A sealing device has a waterproofing layer, a functional layer, and an adhesive layer coated on and at least partially covering the first major surface of the waterproofing layer opposite the side of the functional layer. Also, a method produces a sealing device, a method waterproofs a substrate, and the use of the sealing device seals lapped joints formed between overlapping portions of waterproofing membranes and patches breaches in waterproofing membranes.
Locally deactivated release coating
The invention relates to a film comprising an optionally multilayer carrier layer; wherein one surface side of the carrier layer has been modified over part of its area either by surface activation or by printing with a print medium, such that the surface side has modified regions and unmodified regions; wherein the modified regions and the unmodified regions are coated over part or all of the area by a release material; and wherein the strength of adhesion of the release material to the carrier layer in the modified regions is different compared to the adhesion of the release material to the carrier layer in the unmodified regions.
SEALING TAPE BONDING WEAKLY OR NOT AT ALL ON ONE SIDE
The invention relates to a sealing element with high sealing effect against air and moisture, which is easy to apply, and which moreover offers the possibility to reopen the sealed gap in an uncomplicated manner. Said solution is provided by an adhesive tape with differing adhesive power on the two main sides, which comprises a) a polymer foam layer and b) an outer adhesive compound layer and/or an outer thermoplastic film on one side of the polymer foam layer and is characterized in that, where the adhesive tape comprises an outer adhesive compound layer, the tape has a greater adhesive power on the side provided with the outer adhesive compound layer than on the opposing side and/or, where the adhesive tape comprises an outer thermoplastic film, the tape has a lower adhesive power on the side provided with the outer thermoplastic film than on the opposing side. The invention furthermore relates to the use of an adhesive tape according to the invention for sealing a joint between two components.
Adhesive for heat press molding, wooden board, and manufacturing methods thereof
An adhesive for heat press molding contains a reaction product obtained by heat treatment on a mixture containing a polycarboxylic acid and a saccharide.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A REINFORCED COMPOSITE PIPE USING COMPRESSION TECHNIQUES
A process for manufacturing pipes using thermoplastic pipe and “tape” (continuous fiber, fully wetted in a similar thermoplastic as the pipe) that embeds its fibers into pipe surface. The thermoplastic pipe is mechanically compressed prior fiber tape being applied. Outer diameter reduction of the pipe is at least partly maintained by the fiber tape being tightly wrapped around the pipe immediately after compression causes the pipe to contract. Then, an external heat source is applied to the pipe causing the thermoplastic to melt and the pipe to undergo thermal expansion. Fibers stretch less and are embedded into the molten layer of the pipe, creating a permanent bond between the fibers and the pipe. Individual pipes may be joined using couplers or butt welds.
MODIFIED HYDROXYETHYL METHYL CELLULOSE FOR ENHANCED CERAMIC TILE ADHESIVE AND PREPARATION METHOD AND APPLICATION THEREOF
The present disclosure discloses a modified hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose for an enhanced ceramic tile adhesive, which is prepared from the following raw materials by mass percent: 54%-94% of hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose, 5%-40% of starch ether, 0.5%-3% of dispersing agent and 0.5%-3% of rheological agent, wherein the hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose is prepared from cellulose powder, granular caustic soda, liquid caustic soda, chloromethane and ethylene oxide. A preparation method includes: (1) weighing the raw materials; (2) mixing the cellulose powder, the granular caustic soda, the liquid caustic soda, the chloromethane and the ethylene oxide, carrying out etherification reaction, and then sequentially carrying out neutralization, washing, centrifugation, drying and crushing to obtain the hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose; and (3) mixing and stirring the hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose, the starch ether, the dispersing agent and the rheological agent to obtain the modified hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose.
