A breathable multilayer spun bonded polypropylene membrane having a coated pressure sensitive adhesive capable of allowing air and moisture vapor to pass through it. The adhesive is formed of a copolymer comprising a backbone of n-butyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, and vinyl acetate which is mixed with a surfactant and emulsified to produce bubbles which form pores when the copolymer is set with about 80% to about 90% of the pore sizes ranging from about 200 microns to about 300 microns and a pore density in the cured pressure sensitive adhesive ranging from about 4200 per inch.sup.2 to about 4600 per inch.sup.2, said pores being uniformly distributed to form a flow path through the adhesive.

The invention provides an assembly for fuel cell which has an excellent adhesive force in the presence of hot water, and a laminated body which is used for the assembly for fuel cell. The assembly for fuel cell comprises an adhesive resin layer containing a polyolefin having at least one group selected from the group consisting of an acidic group and an acid anhydride group and having an acid value of 0.01 mgKOH/g to 6.5 mgKOH/g; and two or more members bonded with the adhesive resin layer interposed therebetween, wherein at least one of the members is a metal member having a ratio of a dipole term in surface free energy of 0.01% to 5.0%.

Adhesive strain sensing pods with improved protection

An adhesive strain sensing pod includes at least one strain sensor, electronics for electrically sensing at least one strain signal from the at least one strain sensor, and a sensor adhesive for adhering the strain sensor to a surface of a structural element. The pod may have a protective case for protecting the strain sensor and the electronics and for transferring at least part of a force, pressing the pod against the surface, to press the strain sensor against the surface. The sensor adhesive may be a liquid adhesive contained in a fragile pouch that ruptures when the pod is forced against the surface, or may be a thermally activated adhesive film that is activated to bond the strain sensor to the surface. A protective film may protect the sensor adhesive prior to installation of the pod and is removed prior to installation of the pod on the surface.

The laminated body contains a resin substrate; an easily adhesive layer provided on at least one surface of the resin substrate; and an adhesive resin layer provided on a surface of the easily adhesive layer on a side opposite to the resin substrate, wherein the adhesive resin layer contains a polyolefin having at least one group selected from the group consisting of an acidic group and an acid anhydride group and having an acid value of 0.01 mgKOH/g to 6.5 mgKOH/g; and the laminated body is used for bonding a metal member having a ratio of a dipole term in surface free energy of 0.01% to 5.0%.

The hot-melt adhesive can also contain a second polyolefin, preferably an amorphous polypropylene homo- or copolymer.
