A method is disclosed for preparing fuel components from waste pyrolysis oil. Exemplary embodiments include providing a waste pyrolysis oil having plastic pyrolysis oil and/or tyre pyrolysis oil, and impurities; purifying the waste pyrolysis oil by hydrothermal treatment with water or alkaline water; separating the hydrothermally treated waste pyrolysis oil from an aqueous phase; preparing a hydroprocessing feed from the hydrothermally treated waste pyrolysis oil; hydroprocessing the hydroprocessing feed catalytically with hydrogen to cause hydrogenation; and recovering a hydrocarbon fraction boiling in a liquid fuel range.

PROCESSES AND SYSTEMS FOR PRODUCING UPGRADED PRODUCT FROM RESIDUE

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to a process for producing upgraded product from residue comprising atmospheric residue or vacuum residue upgrading comprising separating the residue through a Solvent Deasphalting (SDA) unit, wherein the SDA unit includes an asphaltene separator that separates the residue into asphaltene pitch and a stream comprising deasphalted oil (DAO) and resin, and a resin separator that subsequently separates the stream comprising DAO and resin into separate DAO and resin streams, treating the resin stream with supercritical water (SCW) to produce an upgraded resin stream, and hydroprocessing a portion of the upgraded resin stream and the DAO stream to produce the upgraded product.

A process for upgrading heavy oil is provided, which integrates thermal cracking, hydrogenolysis, and catalytic aquathermolysis. A catalytic hydrogen-aquathermolysis reactor receives a heavy oil feed, water and hydrogen. In addition catalytic materials and a viscosity reducing agent are introduced. The catalytic hydrogen-aquathermolysis reactor is operated at conditions effective to produce an upgraded heavy oil product.

INTEGRATED PROCESS FOR HYDROTREATING A RENEWABLE FEEDSTOCK WITH IMPROVED CARBON MONOXIDE MANAGEMENT
20210403814 · 2021-12-30 ·

A process for hydrotreating a renewable feedstock with improved carbon monoxide management is disclosed. A mixture of renewable feedstock and hydrocarbon feedstock is treated in a hydrotreating reactor to produce a hydrotreated effluent stream and contacting the hydrotreated effluent stream with a water gas shift catalyst bed to produce a shift reactor effluent stream. The shift reactor effluent stream is passed to a cold separator to recover a cold vapor stream and recycling the cold vapor stream having reduced concentration of carbon monoxide to the hydrotreating zone. The subject matter disclosed provides an improved process and apparatus to reduce the accumulation of CO by converting CO present in the hydrotreated effluent stream to CO.sub.2 using the water shift gas reaction.

PRODUCTION OF AROMATIC COMPOUNDS FROM HEAVY OIL

A process to produce aromatic compounds in a heavy oil product stream comprising the steps of separating the depressurized effluent to produce a vapor product stream and a liquid product stream, reducing a temperature of the vapor product stream to produce a cooled vapor product, separating the cooled vapor product to produce a light oil stream, wherein the light oil stream comprises olefins, separating the light oil stream to produce a light oil slip stream and a light stream, mixing the light stream with a water feed stream to produce an olefin-containing water stream, increasing a pressure of the olefin-containing water stream to produce a pressurized water feed, increasing a temperature of the pressurized water feed to produce a hot water feed, wherein a temperature of the hot water feed is greater than 450° C., converting olefins to aromatic compounds in the hot water feed.

PRODUCTION OF LINEAR OLEFINS FROM HEAVY OIL

A process for producing olefins comprising the steps of separating the liquid oil in the fractionator to produce a light oil product; separating the light oil product in the extractor to produce a paraffin fraction stream; increasing a pressure of the paraffin fraction stream in a paraffin pump to produce a pressurized paraffin stream; mixing the pressurized paraffin stream with a pressurized water feed in the water mixer to produce a paraffin-containing water stream; heating the paraffin-containing water stream in the water heater to produce a hot paraffin-water stream, wherein a temperature of the hot paraffin-water stream is greater than 450 deg C, wherein the short chain paraffins are operable to crack at the temperature of the hot paraffin-water stream; mixing the hot paraffin-water stream and the hot feedstock in the feed mixer to produce a mixed feed stream; and introducing the mixed feed stream to the supercritical unit.

Online Analysis in a Gas Oil Separation Plant (GOSP)

A gas oil separation plant (GOSP) and method for receiving crude oil from a wellhead and removing gas, water, and salt from the crude oil, and discharging export crude oil. The GOSP includes online analyzer instruments for performing online analysis of salt concentration in multiple streams in the GOSP. Based in part on the online analysis, the salt content in the export crude oil may be determined and the flowrate for wash water supplied to the desalter vessel may be specified.

System and method for liquid hydrocarbon desulfurization

A system for processing fuel to remove sulfur species through the oxidation of the sulfur species is described which includes one or more (and preferably two or more processing units). Additionally, a method of removing sulfur species through the oxidation of the sulfur species is also described. The system and the method rely on the use of aqueous feed and does not require the removal (through sorption or the like) at each or between each processing unit. Such a configuration for numerous reasons is economically advantageous.
