CANTILEVER UMBRELLA
A cantilever umbrella has a pole, an umbrella body, and a cantilever assembly connected between the pole and the umbrella body. The cantilever assembly has a slider, a lower arm, an upper arm, and a strut. The slider is slidably mounted and is lockable on the pole. The lower arm is connected between the slider and a top of the umbrella body, and the upper arm is connected between a top end of the pole and a bottom of the umbrella body, being pivotally connected to the lower arm. The strut is connected between the pole and the upper arm, configured to be compressed when the umbrella body is closed, and configured to exert a force on and push the upper arm to actuate the lower arm when the umbrella body is being opened.
Collapsible cover for engine inlet and method for covering engine inlet
An engine inlet cover and a method for covering an engine inlet are provided. A method for covering an engine inlet includes providing a collapsible cover comprising a connection pin defining an axis; a frame including interconnected arms; and a web. Further, the method includes storing the collapsible cover in a stowed configuration in which the arms are aligned. Also, the method includes rotating the arms from the stowed configuration to an operating configuration in which the arms are radially spaced about the axis, enclosing the frame in the operating configuration with the web to define an interior volume, and placing the cover over the engine inlet.
RETRACTABLE UMBRELLA SUPPORT STRUCTURE FOR OFFSET PATIO UMBRELLA
Umbrella support structures are described. The support structures may be used to support compact umbrellas that require less vertical movement of parts, provide more ground clearance, are easier to expand and retract (especially expand), and/or provide other benefits. The support structures may also be used to support non-compact (e.g., conventional) umbrellas. Various embodiments of the umbrella support structures include a primary spreader member; a primary spreader member, a secondary spreader member, and a tertiary spreader member; or an extended spreader member. The reduction in vertical movement of various umbrella support structure elements and embodiments enables the use of mechanical assistance mechanisms (e.g., linear actuators or pulleys) to expand and retract the support structures.
