A lubricant composition for application onto a surface of drive elements includes: a base oil; and a silasesquioxane. In an embodiment, the silasesquioxane has the chemical formula [RSiO3/2].sub.n with: n=6, 8, 10, 12; where R independently of one another=alkyl (C1-C20), cycloalkyl (C3-C20), alkenyl (C2-C20), cycloalkenyl (C5-C20), alkynyl (C2-C20), cycloalkynyl (C5-C20), aryl (C6-C18) or heteroaryl group, oxy, hydroxy, alkoxy (C4-C10), oxirane polymer (degree of polymerization with 4 to 20 repeat units), carboxy, silyl, alkylsilyl, alkoxysilyl, siloxy, alkylsiloxy, alkoxysiloxy, silylalkyl, alkoxysilylalkyl, alkylsilylalkyl, halogen, epoxy (C2-C20), ester, aryl ether, fluoroalkyl, blocked isocyanate, acrylate, methacrylate, mercapto, nitrile, amine, and/or phosphine group, each substituted or unsubstituted.

A composition and method for reducing the coefficient of friction and required pulling force of a wire or cable are provided. A composition of aqueous emulsion is provided that is environmentally friendly, halogen free and solvent free. The composition is compatible with various types of insulating materials and may be applied after the wire or cable is cooled and also by spraying or submerging the wire or cable in a bath. The composition contains lubricating agents that provide lower coefficient of friction for wire or cable installation and continuous wire or cable surface lubrication thereafter.

In this formula, Γ indicates magnetic particles coated with SiO.sub.2 on a surface thereof, the magnetic particles having been modified by a silane coupling agent; (CH.sub.2).sub.3N.sub.(2.sup.n+1.sub.−1)R.sup.1.sub.(2.sup.n+2.sub.−2) is a dendritic group, and R.sup.2.sub.(2.sup.n+1.sub.) is a lipophilic group, with 0≤n≤100. Further disclosed is a lubricant comprising the magnetic dendrimer compound.
