Solid dry-type lubricant

One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a dry-type lubricant for use in a dry product hopper to help improve dry product flow and to improve anti-jamming properties of the dry product. The example lubricant can comprise a hydrophilic fiber, such as cellulose, having a width to length aspect ratio that provides a thin fiber. A plurality of hydrophobic particles are deposited on the surface of the fiber, resulting in a fiber surface exhibiting amphiphobic properties. Further, the fiber can operably absorb water, and then releases the absorbed water to the surface of the fiber under mechanical stress, such as when mixed with a product in a hopper. This can result in the water being disposed on the surface of the fiber, to provide lubrication to a product in a hopper to improve flow and anti-jamming characteristics of the product in the hopper.

Lubricant compositions containing beta-glucans

The presently claimed invention relates to a lubricant composition comprising at least one beta-glucan, optionally in form of one of its derivatives, at least one base oil, at least one additive component, and optionally water; the use of said lubricant compositions for reducing wear in metal-on-metal contact and the use of at least one beta-glucan for reducing the friction coefficient of a lubricant composition.

AQUEOUS LUBRICANT, METAL MATERIAL, AND METAL PROCESSED ARTICLES

An aqueous lubricant for metal material plastic working, which can form a lubricating coating having excellent lubricity (moisture absorption resistance) under a high humidity environment, seizure resistance to metal working with high difficulty, and the like, and further has excellent long-term agent stability; a metal material having a lubricating coating formed by the aqueous lubricant on/over a surface of the metal material; and a metal processed article obtained by molding the metal material are provided. The above problem can be solved by using an aqueous lubricant for metal material plastic working in which an aliphatic polycarboxylic acid having 5 to 8 carbon atoms and a solubility in water at 20 C. of 10 g/100 mL or more and an alkaline earth metal compound are blended in water, or an alkaline earth metal salt of the aliphatic polycarboxylic acid is dissolved or dispersed in water.

Prior high pressure lubricant additives have contained short-chained chlorinated paraffins which are toxic and harmful to the environment. An environmentally friendly high pressure lubricant additives is provided by combining 74.5% to 84.5% by weight chlorinated alkanes, such as PAROIL 310 NR or PAROIL 353 NR, and from 15.5% to 25.5% by weight mineral oil. The high pressure lubricant additive can be added to motor oil, or other lubricants such as hydraulic fluid, cutting oil, gear box oil, automatic transmission fluid and penetrating oil

Friction material

In relation to the NAO friction material free of copper component, this invention is to provide the friction material that prevents the occurrence of metal catch while securing sufficient wear resistance. In the friction material manufactured by forming the NAO friction material composition which is free of copper component, the above-described friction material composition does not contain metal simple substance or alloy and contains, as the lubricant, metal sulfide having 600 centigrade or higher decomposition temperature to be decomposed into metal and sulfur, 2.0-5.0 weight % of graphite and a zirconium silicate as an abrasive material. Here, the metal sulfide is not a molybdenum disulfide or a tungsten disulfide. Especially, the content of the metal sulfide is preferably 0.5-2.0 weight % relative to the total amount of the friction material composition.

Provided is a grease containing a base oil and a hydrophilic nanofiber, the hydrophilic nanofiber having a thickness (d) of 0.01 to 500 nm being dispersed therein. The grease is low in an environmental load and excellent in safety on the human body and also has an appropriate worked penetration and has a high dropping point, and therefore, it is also excellent in heat resistance.

NATURAL ANTIOXIDANTS DERIVED FROM LIGNIN

Technical lignin compositions and pyrolysis methods for forming such technical lignin compositions from pyrolyzed biomass are provided. The technical lignin compositions can include at least about 50 wt % phenolic polymers and/or at least about 75 wt % combined phenolic monomers and phenolic polymers. In some aspects, less than about 50 wt % of the linkages between benzylic units in the phenolic polymers and/or in the composition can correspond to -O-4 linkages. At least about 50 wt% of the hydroxyl groups in the composition can correspond to phenolic hydroxyl groups. At least about 60 wt % of the phenolic hydroxyl groups and/or phenolic ether groups can correspond to phenolic hydroxyl groups and/or phenolic ether groups in an ortho position relative to at least one substituent.
