STRUCTURE FORMING A LIQUID FILM ON THE SURFACE THEREOF AND COATING SOLUTION FOR FORMING THE LIQUID FILM

A structure forming, on the surface thereof, a liquid film for improving sliding property to a fluid substance, the liquid film containing solid particles of particle size of not more than 300 m that are dispersed therein. The structure exhibits further improved sliding property to the fluid substances due to the liquid film formed on the surface thereof, and can be favorably used as packing materials such as containers and lids.

STRUCTURE FORMING A LUBRICATING LAYER ON THE SURFACE THEREOF

A structure including a base material formed in a predetermined shape, and a lubricating layer formed on the surface of the base material for improving sliding property to a fluid substance, the lubricating layer comprising a liquid and solid particles. The lubricating layer 3 formed on the surface of the base material exhibits very improved sliding property to the fluid substance and enables the structure to be favorably used as a packing material such as container and lid.

LUBRICANT COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING BETA-GLUCANS

The presently claimed invention relates to a lubricant composition comprising at least one beta-glucan, optionally in form of one of its derivatives, at least one base oil, at least one additive component, and optionally water; the use of said lubricant compositions for reducing wear in metal-on-metal contact and the use of at least one beta-glucan for reducing the friction coefficient of a lubricant composition.

STEEL WIRE ROD HAVING LUBRICATING COATING FILM THAT HAS EXCELLENT CORROSION RESISTANCE AND WORKABILITY

The present invention provides a steel wire rod including a lubricating coating film, which can reconcile workabilities such as wire drawability, spike property, ball ironing property and film removability, and corrosion resistance such as long-term rust prevention property. The steel wire rod includes a lubricating coating film on a surface, wherein the lubricating coating film contains a water-soluble silicate and a water-soluble tungstate, a mass ratio of water-soluble tungstate/water-soluble silicate being in a range of 0.7 to 10, and contains no phosphorus

Tricresyl phosphate-free oil, lubricant or turbine oil

The present invention relates to a tricresyl phosphate-free oil which can be used as lubricant or hydraulic oil. The oil is distinguished by extremely low human toxicity. In particular, the oil is suitable as turbine oil, i.e. as lubricant oil in aircraft turbines, with which, in the case of a fume event, symptoms of the aerotoxic syndrome in aircraft passengers can be prevented. In addition, the present invention relates to the corresponding use of the turbine oil according to the invention for the prophylaxis of the aerotoxic syndrome in the case of a fume event. In addition, the invention describes a turbine which contains a corresponding turbine oil as lubricant. Furthermore, the method for operating a turbine is indicated.

COATING COMPOSITION FOR FORMING A LUBRICATING LAYER THAT EXHIBITS IMPROVED SLIDING PROPERTY TO FLUID SUBSTANCES

A coating composition for forming a lubricating layer (3) on the surface of a base material (1) formed in a predetermined shape so as to exhibit improved sliding property to fluid substances, the coating composition containing, as a dispersion medium, a liquid (5) that is a component constituting the lubricating layer (3), and the dispersion medium containing solid particles (7) dispersed therein as a component constituting the lubricating layer (3). The lubricating layer (3) formed by using the coating composition exhibits more improved sliding property to fluid substances. The coating composition, therefore, can be favorably used for forming the lubricating layer (3) on the inner surfaces of the packing materials such as containers and lids.

RAILWAY LUBRICANT

A water-based solid lubricant includes water, glycerin, isoalkane, molybdenum disulfide, talc powder, calcium sulfonate, and polyisobutylene is described herein.

LUBRICANT FOR METAL COLD FORMING PROCESSES AND METHODS OF USE OF THE SAME

Disclosed is a lubricant for use in cold forming of a metal. The lubricant comprises a mixture of at least one lubricating compound and at least one starch. The starch adheres the lubricating compound to the metal surface. The present lubricant completely removes the need to pre-coat the metal with a zinc phosphate coating to adhere the lubricating compound to the metal. The present lubricant eliminates several steps required in processes that utilize zinc phosphate pre-coatings. In addition, the lubricant of the present invention is easily removed after the cold forming operations unlike zinc phosphate coatings.

LOW-FRICTION AND LOW-ADHESION MATERIALS AND COATINGS

Disclosed are materials that possess both low adhesion and the ability to absorb water. The material passively absorbs water from the atmosphere and then expels this water upon impact with debris, to create a self-cleaning layer. The lubrication reduces friction and surface adhesion of the debris (such as an insect), which may then slide off the surface. The invention provides a material comprising a continuous matrix including a polymer having a low surface energy (less than 50 mJ/m.sup.2) and a plurality of inclusions, dispersed within the matrix, each comprising a hygroscopic material. The continuous matrix and the inclusions form a lubricating surface layer in the presence of humidity. The material optionally contains porous nanostructures that inject water back onto the surface after an impact, absorbing water under pressure and then releasing water when the pressure is removed. The material may be a coating or a surface, for example.
