Cylinder lubricating oil composition for crosshead diesel engine
(1) A cylinder lubricating oil composition for a crosshead diesel engine, the composition having: a sulfated ash content of 2.0 to 5.5 mass %; a base number of 15 to 45 mgKOH/g; and an autoignition temperature of no less than 262° C. (2) A cylinder lubricating oil composition for a crosshead diesel engine, comprising: a lubricant base oil; (B) a Ca sulfonate detergent having a base number of no less than 10 mgKOH/g and less than 60 mgKOH/g; (C) a Ca phenate detergent having a base number of 55 to 200 mgKOH/g; (D′) an amine antioxidant; and (E′) a zinc dithiophosphate, wherein the composition has a base number of no less than 15 mgKOH/g and less than 120 mgKOH/g.
Ionic Liquids as Lubricants in Optical Systems
A system includes optics for ultraviolet light or electrons. The optics are situated in a chamber and include a surface to control a path of photons or electrons. The system also includes a lubricated component that is distinct from the surface and is situated in the chamber. The lubricated component is lubricated with a lubricant that includes an ionic liquid having a cation and an anion, wherein at least one of the cation or the anion is organic.
LUBRICANT FOR CONVEYING CONTAINERS
The passage of a container along a conveyor is lubricated by applying to the container or conveyor a lubricant composition comprising a water-miscible silicone material having a silicone emulsion wherein the silicone emulsion contains less than 500 ppm of a triethanolamine salts of alkyl benzene sulfonic acid compounds.
NITROGEN-FREE PHOSPHORUS COMPOUNDS AND LUBRICANTS CONTAINING THE SAME
A composition obtained by reacting an O,O-dialkyldithiophosphoric acid with a hydroxyalkyl acrylate or a hydroxyalkyl methacrylate, and reacting the product thereof with a dialkylphosphite provides good antiwear protection.
LUBRICANT COMPOSITION
The present invention relates to a lubricating oil composition containing: (A) a poly--olefin base oil obtained by using a metallocene catalyst; (B) a mineral oil-based base oil exhibiting a distillation curve with a temperature gradient |Dt| of distillation temperature between two points 2.0 vol % and 5.0 vol % of distillation amount being 6.8 C./vol % or less; and (C) an ester-based base oil in an amount of 6% by mass or more based on a total amount of the composition.
Dry lubricant for conveying containers
The passage of a container along a conveyor is lubricated by applying to the container or conveyor a mixture of a water-miscible silicone material and a water-miscible lubricant. The mixture can be applied in relatively low amounts, to provide thin, substantially non-dripping lubricating films. In contrast to dilute aqueous lubricants, the lubricants of the invention provide drier lubrication of the conveyors and containers, a cleaner conveyor line and reduced lubricant usage, thereby reducing waste, cleanup and disposal problems.
Corrosion inhibitors for fuels and lubricants
The present invention relates to novel uses of corrosion inhibitors in fuels and lubricants.
Grafted polymer with soot handling properties
The present disclosure relates to viscosity index modifiers that have dispersant properties and lubricating oil compositions comprising said viscosity index modifiers. The viscosity index modifier is the reaction product of an acylated olefin copolymer, a polyamine, and a dicarboxylic acid or anhydride thereof that can react with a free primary amine of the polyamine to form a ring moiety. The disclosure also relates to the use of lubricant compositions comprising the viscosity index improvers of the disclosure for improving the soot or sludge handling characteristics of an engine lubricant composition, while minimizing the deterioration of engine seals.
