HARD AND LUBRICIOUS VALVE SURFACES, MATERIAL COMPOSITIONS AND SEQUENCES OF MANUFACTURING
The disclosure provides for a valve including a surface movably engaged with another surface. A coating is on the surface and is characterized by: a CoF of less than 0.1; a hardness in excess of 1,200 HVN; impermeability to liquids at pressures ranging from 15 and 20,000 psi; a surface finish of 63 or less; and a thickness ranging from 0.5 to 20 mils. The disclosure provides for material constructions including a continuous phase, including a transition metal, and a discontinuous phase, including a solid dry lubricant. The disclosure also provides for a method of depositing a coating that includes depositing a first layer of a coating onto a surface using electroplating, electroless plating, thermal spraying, or cladding, and then depositing a second layer of the coating onto a surface of the first layer using sputtering, ion beam, plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition, cathodic arc, or chemical vapor deposition.
SURFACE TREATMENT AGENT FOR SUBSTRATE, COMPRISING PERFLUOROPOLYETHER GROUP-CONTAINING PHOSPHATE COMPOUND
To provide a surface treatment agent capable of imparting excellent water/oil repellency, fingerprint stain removability, abrasion resistance and lubricity to the surface of a substrate.
A surface treatment agent for a substrate, comprising a perfluoropolyether group-containing phosphate compound, a coating agent comprising the surface treatment agent and a liquid medium, and a substrate having a surface layer formed from the surface treatment agent or the coating agent.
Cable fill composition
A cable fill composition for an optical fiber cable, said cable fill composition comprising (i) a Fischer-Tropsch derived base oil; and (ii) a thickening system, wherein the thickening system comprises at least one block copolymer. The cable fill composition of the present invention provides improvements in rheological characteristics, low temperature properties, and colour stability properties, as well as minimizing the levels of additives such as antioxidants and pour point depressants which need to be used.
Marine engine lubrication
Trunk piston marine engine crackcase lubrication is effected by a composition made by blending minor amounts of (A) a metal dithiophosphoric acid salt additive component comprising 50 mole % or more of a zinc di (C.sub.6 primary alkyl) dithiophosphate, and (B) an overbased metal detergent additive component, with (C) a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity.
SOLID LUBRICANT, LUBRICATING COATING AGENT FOR METAL MATERIAL, SURFACE-TREATED METAL MATERIAL, AND METHOD FOR FORMING LUBRICATING COATING FOR METAL MATERIAL
Provided is a solid lubricant that is non-black in color and capable of reducing industrial waste (environmental conservation), and further capable of achieving a balance among excellent lubricity, moisture absorption resistance, and corrosion resistance in a heavy working region, and a lubricating coating agent including the solid lubricant.
A solid lubricant including carrier particles including a lipophilic lubricating component that is at least one of an oil, an extreme-pressure agent, a soap, and a wax between particles of and/or between layers of at least one layered clay mineral selected from the group consisting of natural products and synthetic products of a smectite group, a vermiculite group, a mica group, a brittle mica group, a pyrophyllite group, and a kaolinite group.
PRESS-FIT LUBRICANT COMPOSITION
There is provided a press-fit lubricant composition comprising an unsaturated compound with an iodine value of 100 or more.
LUBRICANT COMPOSITION
A lubricant composition comprises a perfluoropolyether oil and an adhesive component.
Lubricant composition of matter and methods of preparation
Ester polyol esters are a unique class of lubricants that have adjustable molecular weights, viscosities, and pour points based on the character of their reaction materials and relative ratios. There is provided a method for preparing at least one ester polyol ester, the method comprising esterifying an ester polyol reaction mixture to produce ester polyol, the reaction mixture comprising an ozone acid mixture and at least one primary polyol, wherein the ozone acid mixture comprises at least one dicarboxylic acid and at least one monocarboxylic acid; and capping the ester polyol with at least one capping carboxylic acid to produce ester polyol ester.
EPILAMIZATION AGENT AND EPILAMIZATION METHOD USING SUCH AN EPILAMIZATION AGENT
An epilamization agent containing at least one compound including at least hydrophobic and oleophobic moieties arranged to impart epilame properties to the compound, and at least one hydrophilic moiety arranged to make the compound soluble in aqueous medium, the hydrophilic moiety being linked to the compound by at least one cleavable group. A method for coating a substrate with epilame, including: preparing an aqueous epilamization bath by solubilising such an epilamization agent, placing the substrate in contact with the epilamization agent in the epilamization bath, separating the hydrophilic moiety from the epilamization agent by cleavage, rinsing the substrate to eliminate the hydrophilic residues from the hydrophilic moiety and drying.
Lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engines
A lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engines containing a base oil mixture with specific properties and a monoglyceride with a specific structure. The lubricating oil composition of the present 5 invention, as well as providing outstanding wear resistance and fuel economy, causes condensed water etc. from water vapor produced as a result of fuel combustion to be dispersed in the oil, so preventing corrosion or rusting of the engine.
