ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY HIGH PRESSURE LUBRICANT ADDITIVE
20180148662 · 2018-05-31 ·

Prior high pressure lubricant additives have contained short-chained chlorinated paraffins which are toxic and harmful to the environment. An environmentally friendly high pressure lubricant additives is provided by combining 74.5% to 84.5% by weight chlorinated alkanes, such as PAROIL 310 NR or PAROIL 353 NR, and from 15.5% to 25.5% by weight mineral oil. The high pressure lubricant additive can be added to motor oil, or other lubricants such as hydraulic fluid, cutting oil, gear box oil, automatic transmission fluid and penetrating oil

Tractor hydraulic fluid compositions

Lubricating oil compositions comprising neutral or low overbased alkaryl sulfonate calcium salts, hydrocarbyl polyalcohol, and zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate for use as tractor hydraulic fluids.

Composition and method of forming the same

A composition comprises the reaction product of a dithiophosphate derivative and an amine. The reaction product is present in the composition in an amount of at least about 25 wt. %. The composition may include additional components. A method of forming the composition comprises the step of combining the dithiophosphate derivative and the amine to form the composition. A method of increasing thermal stability of a dithiophosphate derivative comprises the step of combining the dithiophosphate derivative and an amine. The dithiophosphate derivative can decompose to form hydrogen sulfide (H2S). However, the amine substantially prevents thermal decomposition of the dithiophosphate derivative. An example of the dithiophosphate derivative is 3-(di-isobutoxy-thiophosphorylsulfanyl)-2-methyl-propanoic acid. An example of the amine is ditridecyl amine. The composition can be used for a variety of applications. For example, the composition can be used as an antiwear compound/additive in lubricants, metalworking fluids, hydraulic fluids, etc.

Method for Making Electrorheological Fluids

Dispersions are prepared by dispersing a polymer precursor such as a polyol into a non-aqueous fluid. The resulting droplets of the polymer precursor is partially polymerized to produce liquid or partially gelled droplets, and then sized to a target particle size. The sized particles are then cured to form solid particles. The process allows for close control of particle size, allows for good control of temperature, and is amenable to batch, semi-continuous or even continuous operation. The resulting dispersions are useful as electrorheological fluids.

Object

There found a demand for ashless type novel lubricant which does not contain phosphorus, sulfur or metals and has high friction reducing effect, and suppresses the generation of deposit/sludge and the like, and furthermore can exhibit a detergency effect. It is an object to provide a novel lubricant capable of responding to this demand.

In addition, it was found out that it is required to demonstrate performances such as friction reduction effect and detergent effect under various low temperature and high temperature environments. In the present invention, it is also an object to provide a novel lubricant which can exhibit excellent performance even under various low temperature and high temperature environments even at the higher dosage.

Solution
