The invention extends to the use of a diester of sorbitol or a derivative thereof and at least one carboxylic acid as a seal swell agent, and a method of maintaining seal integrity.
HYDRAULIC LUBRICANT FORMULATIONS WITH HIGH FLASH POINT AND IMPROVED SHEAR STABILITY
Compositions have a high content of saturated or unsaturated isoparaffinic hydrocarbons with 12-24 carbon atoms and a polyalkyl (meth)acrylate. A method prepares said compositions to promote the raise of the flash point of hydraulic fluids where a good low temperature flow is important, e.g. compressor oils, shock absorber fluids, power steering fluids, and central hydraulic fluids.
SHOCK ABSORBER LUBRICANT COMPOSITION, SHOCK ABSORBER, AND METHOD FOR ADJUSTING FRICTION CHARACTERISTICS OF SHOCK ABSORBER LUBRICANT

MAGNETIC VISCOUS FLUID AND MECHANICAL DEVICE
The present invention provides a magnetic viscous fluid comprising a magnetic particle, at least one selected from ester base synthetic oil, ether base synthetic oil, and alkylnaphthalene having an alkyl group with 10 to 20 carbons, an inorganic cation exchanger with a siloxane bond, and silicone oil.
POLYSILOXANE HYDRAULIC FLUIDS
The present disclosure relates to polysiloxanes, processes for preparing polysiloxanes, and hydraulic fluids comprising polysiloxanes. This disclosure also relates to hydraulic fluids comprising one or more polysiloxane compounds and diphosphonate compounds, and to the use of diphosphonate compounds in hydraulic fluids or as additives or components in various compositions, for example to provide fire retardant properties to a fluid or composition. This disclosure also relates to use of the compositions as hydraulic fluids, which may be used in various machines, vehicles and craft, including aircraft.
Lubricating compositions
A liquid composition for providing enhanced lubrication and wear protection, particularly under high-performance and/or extreme-pressure conditions. The composition comprises components that are either solubilized, liquified, or sub-micronized, and are formulated to result in a stable, color-tunable composition that can be stored or implemented over extended periods of time without separation of solid components from the liquid. A composition can either be a lubricant in which the solubilized, liquified, or sub-micronized components are comprised within a base oil, or an additive composition in which the components are formulated to be later added to a base oil. Suitable base oils are industrial, automotive, or open gear oils such as those used in the oil and gas industry, sugar mills, or in rock crushers; rock drill, pneumatic, and air tool oils; anti-seize compounds; cutting, gun, engine, air compressor, or bearing oils; slideway lubricants; and oven, kiln, foundry, metalworking, metalforming, or aerospace lubricants.
Bimodal copolymer compositions useful as oil modifiers and lubricating oils comprising the same
Lubricating oil compositions are provided which contain bimodal copolymer compositions, and in particular bimodal ethylene--olefin copolymer compositions. The copolymer compositions comprise first and second ethylene--olefin copolymer components. The bimodal compositions are particularly useful as viscosity or rheology modifiers, e.g., in lubricating oil compositions. Lubricating oil compositions comprising the copolymer compositions advantageously exhibit enhanced shear stability index (SSI) and thickening efficiency (TE) values, while maintaining excellent low-temperature properties such as pour point, mini-rotary viscometer viscosity, and cold crank simulation performance.
