Vehicle braking unit, brake pad and associated methods
A vehicle braking unit comprising a support designed to be positioned in use close to an element to be braked, braking elements which are carried in a movable way by the support, actuation elements which are carried by the support for pushing the braking elements against the element to be braked and first and second guide surfaces that are integral, respectively, to the braking elements and to the support, and that cooperate together to guide and support the braking elements when they are moved towards the element to be braked by the activation of the actuation elements; the first and/or the second guide surfaces are covered by a sliding coating consisting of a polymeric resin layer with solid lubricants and/or anti-friction materials being dispersed therein, that has been cured at a temperature greater than 300 C.
COFFEE LUBRICANT HAVING NANOPARTICLES
A coffee lubricant having nanoparticles is provided. It consists of 36 to 40 wt % of glycerin, 1 to 7 wt % of gum arabic, 0.3 to 1.3 wt % of nanoparticles, and remaining part of coffee biofuel. In which, the nanoparticles are CuO. The coffee biofuel is extracted from coffee dregs and has a viscosity of 60 to 70 cSt at a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. It can reduce the friction coefficient and operating temperature. In addition, it can replace the mineral oil.
Water lubricant composition and water lubricating system
A water lubricant composition (10) of the present invention contains water (11) as a lubricating base material and ND particles (12), which are hydrogen-reduced nanodiamond particles. The content of the water (11) in the water lubricant composition (10) is, for example, 90% by mass or more. The content of the ND particles (12) in the water lubricant composition (10) is, for example, 0.1% by mass or less. The water lubricant composition (10) is suitable for achieving low friction in water lubrication. A water lubricating system of the present invention includes the water lubricant composition (10) which is being used for the lubrication of a SiC member and/or a SiO.sub.2 member.
Grease, mechanical component, and method for producing grease
Provided is a grease containing a base oil and a hydrophilic nanofiber, the hydrophilic nanofiber having a thickness (d) of 0.01 to 500 nm being dispersed therein. The grease is low in an environmental load and excellent in safety on the human body and also has an appropriate worked penetration and has a high dropping point, and therefore, it is also excellent in heat resistance.
LUBRICANT COMPOSITION AND LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION CONTAINING SAID LUBRICANT COMPOSITION
A lubricant composition containing a base oil and organic fine particles substantially consisting of the three elements of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen and having a proportion of particles having a particle diameter of 10 nm to 10 m of 90% or greater, wherein the content of the organic fine particles is 0.01 to 50 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the base oil.
INITIAL RUNNING-IN AGENT COMPOSITION AND INITIAL RUNNING-IN SYSTEM INCLUDING SAID COMPOSITION
The present invention provides an initial running-in agent composition suitable for forming a low-friction surface (running-in surface) on a sliding member, such as a hard carbon film, in a system in which water is used as a lubricant. The initial running-in agent composition (10) according to an embodiment of the present invention contains water 11 as a lubricant base and nanodiamond particles (12). In the initial running-in agent composition (10), a content of the water (11) is preferably 99 mass % or greater, and a content of the nanodiamond particles (12) is preferably 1.0 mass % or less.
Methods of and compositions for controlling friction
A friction control composition having high and positive frictional properties for sliding steel surfaces includes a water insoluble hydrocarbon that enables a reduced water content, a rheological additive, a freezing point depressant, a friction modifier, and a lubricant.
Dispersions Of Polymeric Oil Additives
The invention provides dispersions comprising I) at least one oil-soluble polymer effective as a cold flow improver for mineral oils, II) at least one organic, water-immiscible solvent, III) a dispersant comprising, based on the total amount of dispersant, a) 10-90% by weight of a salt of an ethercarboxylic acid and b) 90-10% by weight of a nonionic surfactant, IV) water and V) at least one organic, water-miscible solvent.
Low ash and ash-free acid neutralizing compositions and lubricating oil compositions containing same
An oleaginous nanoparticle dispersion of nanoparticles having a core of an organic base material immobilized within a surfactant layer, the use thereof as a low ash, or ash-free source of TBN in lubricating oil compositions, and lubricating oil compositions formulated with such oleaginous nanoparticle dispersions.
Lubricant compositions comprising core-shell nanoparticles
Lubricant compositions, core-shell nanoparticles, and related methods are disclosed. In an exemplary embodiment, a lubricant composition includes a plurality of core-shell nanoparticles. The nanoparticles include a core, a first shell disposed on the core, and a second shell disposed on the first shell. The first shell is formed from a siliceous material and the second shell is formed from a hydrophobic material. The first and second shells form functional coatings that reduce wear and friction of parts lubricated with the lubricant composition.
