PROCESS FOR MAKING A PARTICLE
A process for making a particle, the particle includes: a) a nitrogen-containing cleaning-active in the form of a salt wherein the salt has a pH in 1% weight aqueous solution measured at 25° C. greater than 9; and b) a malodour-reducing agent including an acid group wherein the process includes the step of adding the malodour-reducing agent to the nitrogen-containing cleaning-active wherein the malodour-reducing agent is added in the absence of water.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR FORMING STABLE, LIQUID METAL OXIDE/HYDROXIDE FORMULATIONS
Dry mixtures and liquid formulations are provided that comprise metal oxide and/or metal hydroxide nanocrystalline particles. The dry mixtures are advantageously formulated with select surfactants to be readily solubilized and stable in liquid carriers. Additional select components are provided in preferred combinations that are capable of achieving improved biocidal and chemical agent efficacy. Notably, the inventive formulations provided herein allow for easier delivery of the formulations and increased shelf stability.
Compositions and methods for removing soil from surfaces
The present invention relates to a an aqueous composition for removing soils from a surface to be cleaned, formed from water, a detergent mixture and a rinse aid, wherein the detergent mixture comprises a peroxidation catalyst and wherein the rinse aid comprises an oxygen source. Such a composition may provide a more effective cleaning behaviour. The present invention further relates to a method for removing soil from a surface to be cleaned comprising applying to the surface to be cleaned a composition according to the invention.

Home Care Compositions
Described herein are hard-surface cleaning compositions comprising: an alkyl polyglycoside; an organic solvent comprising a diol having the formula: C.sub.nH.sub.2n(OH).sub.2, wherein n=3 to 10 and mixtures thereof; an alpha hydroxy acid; and a humectant. Methods of making and using these hard-surface cleaning compositions are also described herein.
SURFACTANT PREPARATION PROCESS
An enzymatic process for the preparation of C16 alkyl polyglycosides and/or C18 alkyl polyglycosides by reacting C16 alkyl glycoside and/or C18 alkyl glycoside with a glycosyl donor containing monosaccharide residues to form an alkyl polyglycoside intermediate which can be fractionated to form an alkyl polyglycoside product, wherein the mole-average degree of polymerization mean DP) of the glycoside chains is greater than or equal to 3.0 units and the molar concentration of alkyl triglycoside (DP3) is greater than alkyl monoglycoside (DPI). The C16/C18 alkyl polyglycoside product is particularly useful in health care formulations, especially in combination with and/or as a solubilizer for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).

GLYCOLIPOPEPTIDE BIOSURFACTANTS
Surfactants based on a newly discovered class of compounds include a hydrophobic lipid oligomer covalently linked to a peptide or peptide-like chain and a carbohydrate moiety, and a serine-leucinol dipeptide linked to the lipid oligomer. Such surfactants can be used to create an oil-in-water or water-in-oil emulsion by mixing together a polar component; a non-polar component; and the surfactant. Biosurfactants of the newly discovered class can be made by isolating and culturing a microorganism which produces the biosurfactant, and then isolating the biosurfactant from the culture. A microorganism can be engineered to produce biosurfactant of this newly discovered class by expressing a set of heterologous genes involved in the biosynthesis of the biosurfactant in the microorganism.
Co-surfactant, surfactant composition, and composition for oil recovery
The present invention provides a co-surfactant which, when used in combination with a surfactant, can reduce the size of the surfactant micelle and can enhance the functions of the surfactant, such as the expression of microemulsion formation performance. This co-surfactant contains at least one compound represented by chemical formula (1). ##STR00001##
