Recessed roof for a storage tank
This disclosure may generally relate to a pressured vessel and, more particularly, to systems and methods for pressurizing a pressured vessel by producing a biogas using a recessed roof system. A pressured vessel may comprise a shell, wherein the shell may comprise a plurality of panels. The pressured vessel may further comprise a recessed roof and a deck. A method of collecting biogas from a pressure vessel may comprise disposing a liquid into the pressure vessel, disposing an anaerobic microorganism into the pressure vessel, adjusting a path of the biogas with a protruding baffle, collecting the biogas with the recessed roof, applying pressure to the outside of the recessed roof with the liquid such that the biogas pressure inside the recessed roof is increased, and removing the biogas from inside the recessed roof through a gas collection system.
Bioreactor Apparatus and Related Methods for Converting Carbon Dioxide to Oxygen
The present disclosure provides a bioreactor that utilizes cultivated algae grown within a sealed chamber to convert carbon dioxide in fluid that is passed through the sealed chamber into oxygen via photosynthesis. The apparatus comprises an LED array for providing artificial light to the algae, which causes them to utilize CO2 in the surrounding fluid for photosynthesis, producing oxygen as a result. Transparent inserts are disposed within the sealed chamber for increasing the amount of surface area on which the algae can form and increasing efficiency.
System and method for growing algae
Aspects of the invention are directed to a system and method of sparging an algae cultivation container. The method may include controlling at least one first sparger to distribute a first fluid into the container at a first operating flow rate; and controlling at least one second sparger to distribute a second fluid into the container at a second operating flow rate. The first operating flow rate may be adapted to allow mixing the algae in the cultivation container, and the second operating flow rate may be adapted to allow assimilation of materials in a liquid in the cultivation container.
Container with inspection opening
The invention relates to a container, in particular a fermenter for a biogas plant, wherein in the container a mixer is arranged that can be removed through an inspection opening provided in a container wall. A boom is provided for this purpose. Furthermore, the invention relates to a related method and a related use.
Methods of anaerobic digestion of biomass to produce biogas
Improved methods for anaerobic digestion of organic matter to produce biogas. Among the improvements given are including ferric iron in a hydrolysis reactor to increase the rate and efficiency of anaerobic hydrolysis to provide substrates for methanogenesis. A solids separation step is added after hydrolysis and before methanogenesis to improve the efficiency of the methanogenesis step. Other improvements involve using separate tanks for the hydrolysis and methanogenesis stages and using two (or more) methanogenesis tanks in sequence, and switching the order of the two (or more) methanogenesis tanks periodically.
Biodigester Assemblies and Methods
Organic matter digesting apparatus and methods are provided that can include a digestion tank operatively coupled to a vertically aligned gas collection tower and methods that can include providing a biodigesting apparatus; inputting organic matter into the biodigesting apparatus; initiating the biodigesting apparatus; and outputting water, methane gas, and solid carbon-based material.
Portable renewable energy microgeneration system
A portable renewable energy microgeneration system is disclosed. The system comprises one or more holding tanks that are configured to perform anaerobic digestion on waste in a multi-phase process using bacteria and a controller configured to automatically control the multi-phase process and to re-use the bacteria. The controller re-uses the bacteria by removing at least a portion of the liquid from the waste after anaerobic digestion is performed on the waste and using the at least a portion of the liquid to wet other waste and repeat the multi-phase process.
Gas collection device
The present invention relates to a gas collection device and is directed to a gas collection device for collecting a gas which is generated while microorganisms are cultured in a super absorbent polymer product. The gas collection device may comprise a constant temperature chamber having an interior that is configured to be maintained at a set temperature; a culture flask unit located inside the constant temperature chamber and configured to culture a bacteria therein; an adsorption unit located outside the constant temperature chamber and configured to receive a gas inside the culture flask unit; a pump unit connected to a rear end of the adsorption unit and configured to suck the gas inside the culture flask unit into the adsorption unit; and a mass flow controller located outside the constant temperature chamber and configured to control a flow rate of the gas sucked into the adsorption unit.
Jute filters to reduce ammonia inhibition effects of chicken manure for biogas production
A system and method for producing biogas (methane) from a mixture of poultry manure and methanogens through an anerobic digestion process which makes use of jute filters within the chamber to absorb excess ammonium nitrogen from the mixture of poultry manure.
