20190136177 · 2019-05-09 ·

Disclosed herein are devices, methods and compositions for making and using microfluidic devices comprising making a microfluid device comprising one or more channels; and coating at least a portion of an interior surface of at least one channel, wherein one or more gradients are formed by simultaneously introducing into the device a first cellular culture media composition having a certain concentration of a gas, an active agent or both and a second composition having a concentration of a gas, an active agent or both that is/are different from that of the first composition. Such devices are used to investigate cellular responses to physiological states and active agents.

Biochemical cartridge, and biochemical cartridge and cartridge holder set

A cartridge sealed from ambient air is used to send a liquid without causing the liquid to contact the fluid inside the cartridge. Inside of the cartridge 1 sealed from ambient air are provided chambers that send and receive reagents, and an elastic body membrane 51 is attached to the bottom surface. The cartridge main body 51 does not have a groove or anything else that becomes a channel, and the membrane 51 is not bonded to portions that become channels. A channel, not formed in a normal state, is formed upon deforming the membrane 51 under air pressure in the unbonded portion, and the fluid is moved inside. A valve function is provided at an inlet of each chamber, and the fluid is internally moved in any direction with channel deformation.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VERTICALLY-ORIENTED COMPOSTING
20240246129 · 2024-07-25 ·

A system and method for vertically-oriented, modular, automated, emissions-controlled composting. In an embodiment, the system and method involve construction of a vertically-oriented set of composting modules comprising a receiving and offloading level, one or more composting bay levels, a feedstock staging level, a biofilter level, a vertical conveyor for uploading feedstock to the feedstock staging level, a freight and personnel elevator, and a leachate tank. This composting system and method reduces the land area required for composting, increases the capture of emissions from composting, and reduces the labor-intensive and heavy-equipment-intensive nature of current methods.

Jute filters to reduce ammonia inhibition effects of chicken manure for biogas production

A system and method for producing biogas (methane) from a mixture of poultry manure and methanogens through an anerobic digestion process which makes use of jute filters within the chamber to absorb excess ammonium nitrogen from the mixture of poultry manure.

Gas collection device

The gas collection device includes a constant temperature chamber whose interior is maintained at a set temperature; a culture flask unit located inside the constant temperature chamber and culturing bacteria therein; a mass flow controller located outside the constant temperature chamber and connected to the culture flask unit through an injection flow path to control a gas injected into the culture flask unit through the injection flow path; and an impinger located outside the constant temperature chamber and connected to the culture flask unit through a discharge flow path to receive a gas discharged from the culture flask unit through the discharge flow path in real time.

INTEGRATED DEVICE FOR PRODUCING ELECTRICITY, BIODIESEL, HYDROXY METHYL FURFURAL HMF, AND CHAR COAL FROM WASTE (SEWAGE, DOMESTIC DISPOSALS, AGRICULTURAL WASTES)

A device for producing energy from waste including a power generator, a digester, and .a generator utilizing biodiesel, active coal, tar, and ashes. The latter includes a purification chamber, a gas generator, a radiator, a compressor, and a reactor. The device includes an HMF producer comprising a primary treatment tank, a pump, a reactor, an extractor and a purification tank. The power generator may be at least one of a diesel motor, a gas turbine and steam cycle. The digester is structured to produce biogas.

Apparatus for receiving and conditioning organic waste by anaerobic bioconversion
10214712 · 2019-02-26 ·

An apparatus for receiving and processing organic waste by anaerobic bioconversion comprising a closed tank which is the bioconversion site, provided in the top portion thereof with a gasometric bell for storing and pressurizing the biogas produced, around which the external members of the apparatus are distributed on a pod which also forms the support for a body of the digester. The tank, in a preferred embodiment, comprises a main enclosure which is the bioconversion site, and a secondary central enclosure called the crop, intended to receive and store the organic waste to be processed before the dosing of same into the main enclosure to complete the bioconversion. The crop forms a removable subassembly that can be configured in different ways, with a circulation and distribution block on which it is secured and with a liquid-solid phase separator which is mounted over same. This subassembly engages with a mechanical stirrer for stirring the fermentative medium contained inside the tank, driven by the gasometric bell, which is centered and rotated by a drive device, for example one carried by the arm of a telescopic bracket mounted over same, or by a drive ring.
