An integrated two-phase anaerobic dry fermentation reactor based on a biomimetic principle of rumen includes a reactor body; wherein the reactor body includes a dry fermentation chamber, a secondary fermentation chamber, and a liquid storage chamber. The dry fermentation chamber is arranged at an upper portion of the reactor body. The liquid storage chamber is arranged at a bottom of the reactor body. The secondary fermentation chamber is arranged between the dry fermentation chamber and the liquid storage chamber in the reactor body. The dry fermentation chamber is connected to the secondary fermentation chamber by a porous structure.
Digester cover left-in-place ballast ring
A sludge digester including a vessel and floating cover. The vessel includes a sidewall and an interior volume configured to receive and contain sludge. According to one embodiment, the cover comprises a frame structure that is constructed and arranged to form a skirt member formed at a periphery of the cover and extending downwardly into the vessel, and a continuous ballast ring attached to a lower portion of the skirt member and configured to form a trough member with an interior surface of the skirt member. The sludge digester may also include a guide system coupled to the sidewall and the skirt member and configured to allow vertical displacement of the cover with change in volume of at least one of a gas and a sludge contained in the vessel beneath the cover.
ANAEROBIC DIGESTION SYSTEM FOR PRODUCTION OF BIOGAS WITH A REDUCED HYDROGEN SULPHIDE CONTENT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF BIOGAS WITH A REDUCED HYDROGEN SULPHIDE CONTENT IN AN ANAEROBIC DIGESTION SYSTEM
The application relates to an anaerobic digestion system for production of biogas with a reduced hydrogen sulphide content. The system comprises an airtight reactor vessel comprising: sludge comprising a surface layer and a volume underneath the surface layer comprising bio-matter and micro-organisms that are able to anaerobically digest the bio-matter, thereby producing biogas comprising hydrogen sulphide, a headspace above the surface layer of the sludge into which biogas migrates out of the sludge, a spraying system for spraying an aqueous nitrate containing solution in the headspace using a carrier gas stream to form a nitrate containing interphase layer between the surface layer of the sludge and the headspace, with the proviso that the reactor vessel does not comprise a membrane or fabric positioned in the headspace.
Salt management system for portable renewable energy microgeneration system
A renewable energy microgeneration apparatus is disclosed that includes a mixing tank that mixes waste with a liquid, a buffer tank that receives and pre-warms the mixed waste, a pasteurization tank that pasteurizes on the pre-warmed mixed waste, a digestion tank that performs anaerobic digestion on the pasteurized waste, a de-watering device that separates liquid digestate and removes salt from the liquid, sensors that measure salinity and biogas quality, and a controller. The controller causes the transfer of digestate from the digestion tank to the pasteurization tank to the dewatering device, causes the de-watering device to separate the liquid and remove the salt from the liquid, monitors the salinity of the liquid and the quality of biogas using the sensors, and causes the mixing of the liquid with the waste and adjusts the feed rate of the waste to reduce the salinity of the waste and increase methane production.

HORIZONTAL ANAEROBIC DIGESTOR WITH SEDIMENT SEPARATOR FOR THE ORGANIC FRACTION OF MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE AND RELATED PROCESS
The solution proposed by the present invention consists of the different shape of the bottom of a horizontal digester (1) having at the terminal part of its length (the end side), at the opposite end from the feed inlet side, a sediment separator (9) which is in the shape of a conic pyramid (91), a linear V (92), or a mixed form (96), which is emptied periodically, allowing the removal of the sediments deposited on the bottom. In the conic pyramidal sediment separator (91) the emptying occurs by gravity through a controlled valve (93), while in the V-shaped linear sediment separator (92) or the mixed-form sediment separator (96) the emptying is by means of a helical impeller (94) at the bottom. The sediment separator allows the use of an organic fraction of municipal solid waste coming from a less sophisticated selection process with a greater presence of residual inorganic waste.
