ROBOTS AND ROBOTIC SYSTEMS FOR FLUID HANDLING AND TRANSPORT OF BIODEVICES AND APPLICATIONS OF SAME
A robot for transporting a biodevice from one place to another place, comprising a body for carrying the biodevice; a driving assembly for driving the body in omnidirectional motion; a sensing unit for sensing at least a position and orientation of the body; and a control unit coupled to the driving assembly and the sensing unit for generating one or more control signals based on at least the sensed position and orientation of the body to drive the driving assembly so as to move the body to a desired place and to arrive with the correct orientation.
Augmented biocontainment materials and augmented biocontainment enclosures
A biocontainment vessel includes a vessel structure including a structural composition and an enhancement composition associated with the structural composition. The enhancement composition includes a co-polymer. The co-polymer is a poly(glycerol sebacate) or a poly(glycerol sebacate urethane). The enhancement composition may also include an augmentation agent associated with the co-polymer. The enhancement composition is located with respect to the structural composition such that the enhancement composition benefits biological cells contained in the biocontainment vessel. A composition includes a co-polymer and an augmentation agent contained by the co-polymer. A method of containing biological cells includes placing the biological cells in an augmented biocontainment vessel and storing them in the augmented biocontainment vessel under predetermined conditions. An augmented substrate includes a substrate and an enhancement composition coating a surface of the substrate.
Modular portable renewable energy microgeneration system
A portable and modular renewable energy microgeneration apparatus is disclosed that includes at least four modular units. The first modular unit includes a mixing tank and a chopper. The second modular unit includes a buffer tank, a liquor tank, and a pasteurization tank that pasteurizes waste that has been mixed with liquid from the liquor tank by the mixer, chopped into smaller sized components by the chopper, and pre-warmed by the buffer tank. The third modular unit includes a digestion tank that performs anaerobic digestion on pasteurized waste received from the pasteurization tank. And the fourth modular unit includes a gas storage tank that stores gas generated by the waste in at least one of the mixing tank, the chopper, the buffer tank, the liquor tank, the pasteurization tank, and the digestion tank. Each of the four modular units is both portable and modular.
Bioreactor systems with tube supports
A bioreactor system includes a support housing having an interior surface bounding a compartment. A rack is secured to the support housing in alignment with the opening. An elongated first shaft has a first end and an opposing second end, the first end of the first shaft being secured to the rack. A structure is secured to the first shaft at or towards the second end of the first shaft, the structure outwardly projecting away from the first shaft. A collapsible bag bounds a chamber and is at least partially disposed within the compartment of the support housing. A member projects from the collapsible bag and passes through the opening on the support housing, the structure supporting or restraining movement of the member.
Upstream and downstream processing within single-use containers
A single-use chamber comprising a primary subchamber containing at least one primary component configured to perform an operation comprising at least one of generation and handling of a biological material; and a secondary subchamber containing at least one of a connection to equipment external to the single-use chamber and a secondary component, wherein the external equipment and the secondary component are configured to support the operation of the at least one primary component; wherein the primary subchamber and the secondary subchamber are configured to be connected to each other so that the at least one primary component is operatively coupled to at least one of the connection and the secondary component.
CELL PRODUCTION SYSTEM
This cell production system is provided with: a robot that assists cell production; and a plurality of closed system cell production devices which are affected by the robot in a one-to-many manner, wherein the closed system cell production devices are each provided with a double-sided structure of a dangerous region side affected by the robot and a safe region side on the reverse side of the dangerous region side.
Biogas Plant for Fermenting Organic Materials and for Generating Biogas
The invention relates to a biogas plant for fermenting organic materials and for generating biogas, having a plurality of containers and/or tanks, which form at least one slurry store (7), at least one fermenter container (8) downstream of the slurry store (7), at least one post-fermenter container (9) downstream of the fermenter container (8) and/or at least one final storage container (10) downstream of the fermenter container (8). According to the invention it is provided that the entire functional biogas plant is, as a floating biogas plant, a component of a one-part or of a multi-part connected floating body.
