BALANCED SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF MICROBIAL OUTPUT
A system and method for the production of microbial consortiums and by-product material is provided. A physical containment system comprising phase spaces arranged in a discrete order to favor specific biological reactions is also provided. Phase profiles and phase data sets include the pre-determined physical and biological parameters for the phase space transitions. Movement of material from one phase to the next is hydraulically balanced enabling working fluid to continuously move in a fixed direction and rate of flow. Continuous monitoring of phase profiles and phase data sets provide feedback to the system enabling alteration of the conditions in the system to control reactions therein

Method for sanitizing biomass
A method for sanitizing biomass in which the biomass is fed to a shaft cooler, and the biomass is heated in the shaft cooler by supplying a heated heating medium to the shaft cooler.
Devices, methods and systems for collecting waste from a bioreactor
The invention relates to devices, methods and systems for collecting and solidifying waste material from bioreactor cell cultures in order to facilitate waste disposal. The invention finds particular utility in mammalian cell culture applications. A transverse wall divides the interior of a waste bag into two chambers, the first chamber containing an inlet receiving waste liquid from a bioreactor, the second chamber containing an absorbent material to solidify the liquid into a gel. The transverse wall acts to direct the flow of waste media into the second chamber where it is converted into a gel and further prevents the inlet from being blocked by any gel or particulate materials. Methods and uses regarding this invention are described.
Method for cycling biomasses between mushroom cultivation and anaerobic biogas fermentation, and for separating and drying a degassed biomass
The present invention is related to recycling of fermentable and metabolizable biomass materials for sequentially performing a cultivation of fungal cells and for producing biogas by anaerobic fermentation of said biomass materials.
Isolator system and decontamination method therefor
An isolator system 1 includes: a main isolator 3 in which an aseptic state is maintained and which is for performing an aseptic operation; an incubator 4 in which the aseptic state is maintained and which is connected to the main isolator 3 and is for culturing cells and the like; decontamination means 35 for decontaminating the inside of the main isolator 3; and a decontamination station 9 that decontaminates the inside of the incubator 4. The isolator system 1 further includes a blocking member 30 for sealing a connection port 13 from the outside, the port being provided in the main isolator 3 and being for connection with the incubator 4. When the inside of the main isolator 3 is decontaminated, the connection port 13 is sealed from the outside with the blocking member 30. The isolator system that can efficiently decontaminate the main isolator and the subisolator connected to this main isolator can be provided.
BIOLOGICAL INDICATORS
This invention relates to a biological indicator, comprising: a carrier inoculated with a test organism and an effective amount of a carbohydrate to reduce the resistance of the biological indicator to steam sterilization. The invention relates to a steam sterilization process using the biological indicator.
MODULAR SYSTEM AND PROCESS FOR THE CONTINUOUS, MICROBE-REDUCED PRODUCTION AND/OR PROCESSING OF A PRODUCT
The invention provides a method for the continuous, microbe-reduced production and/or processing of a biopharmaceutical, biological macromolecular product from a heterogeneous cell culture-fluid mixture, comprising the steps of: (a) providing a particle-free fluid from a heterogeneous cell culture-fluid mixture containing the product, in the form of a product stream, (b) at least one filtration, providing a filtrate, (c) at least two chromatography steps for purifying the product, (d) at least one virus depletion, (e) at least one ultrafiltration and/or at least one diafiltration of the product stream of steps (b), (c) and/or (d), characterized in that the at least two chromatography steps from (c) comprise a purification via at least two chromatography columns and/or membrane adsorbers in each case and that the process is carried out in a closed and modular manner The invention further provides a corresponding modular system for carrying out said method.
Producing liquid fertilizer in a biogas plant
A biogas plant produces both methane and liquid fertilizer by fermenting biomass. The plant includes a fermenter, a percolate tank and a sanitation tank located inside the percolate tank. Dry fermentation takes place in the fermenter and generates methane and a percolate. The percolate is circulated between the fermenter and the percolate tank. Percolate that is returned from the percolate tank to the fermenter is sprinkled over the biomass. A portion of the percolate is transferred from the percolate tank into the sanitation tank. The percolate in the sanitation tank is sanitized by heating to a Celsius temperature between 45 and 65 for a period of at least five days. The percolate in the sanitation tank is heated using both a heating device in the sanitation tank as well as heat generated from a thermophilic fermentation reaction occurring in the percolate tank. The sanitized percolate is used as liquid fertilizer.
Single-use cell culture container
A method for producing a single-use cell culture container at least partially made of polymer material, wherein the cell culture container is treated with gamma radiation for sterilization, characterized in that the cell culture container is treated with inert gas and/or a defined amount of oxygen before the irradiation in order to prevent the occurrence of an extended lag phase.
