Purse protecting apparatus and associated use thereof
A combined purse and security fastener includes a purse including a storage section and a flexible shoulder strap affixed thereto, and a security fastener slidably coupled to the purse. Such a security fastener includes a flexible chain and a shoulder pad adjustably engaged with the flexible chain. Advantageously, the flexible chain is looped through the flexible shoulder strap and interlinked therewith such that the flexible chain rests along a first axis during use and the flexible shoulder strap rests along a second axis during use. Notably, the first axis intersects the second axis such that the flexible chain overlaps the flexible shoulder strap.
BAG AND BRACKET ASSEMBLY FOR A BAG
A bag (10) includes a body having a first portion (26) and a second portion (30) defining a storage compartment therebetween. The bag also includes a zipper (18) with a slider (60) movable along the body and a pull (64). The bag further includes a bracket assembly (22) having a base (82) defining a recess for receiving a portion of the pull, and a cover (86) movable between an open position and a closed position, in which the cover substantially covers the recess to inhibit removal of the portion of the pull from the recess. The bracket assembly (22) also includes a first lock attachment point (90) configured to receive a first type of lock to secure the cover to the base, and a second lock attachment point (94) apart from the first lock attachment point (90). The second lock attachment point (94) is configured to receive a second type of lock to secure the cover to the base.

Anti-theft security panel for a carrying bag
In various embodiments, a carry (or carrying) bag is provided that includes an interior, substantially cut-resistant security panel assembly with a matrix of wires secured between or on one or more flexible material layers. Also in various embodiments, the security panel assembly may be positioned intermediate the bag outside wall and a lining of the bag, and in other embodiments, may also take the form of an expansion panel. Second or secondary locking fasteners are also provided to lock first or primary fasteners to or within the carrying bag, to provide security for compartments and pockets. A strap with one or more security cables, and various locking fasteners, may be attached to the carry bag. Methods for forming such security panel assemblies, expansion panels, and carrying straps are also disclosed.
Security Devices
A security device has a flexible strap (26) with a lock unit (28) attached at each end. The strap (26) comprises a plurality of longitudinally extending multi-filament cables or ropes (2) arranged in a substantially planar array embedded in an elastomeric material (4). The cables or ropes (2) have a coating of primer for creating a bond with the elastomeric material (4). The primer may be restricted to the external surface of the cables or ropes (2), or some of the surfaces of the filaments may be free of primer. This facilitates relative movement of the filaments during flexure or compression of the strap (26). Moreover, an extrusion process for manufacturing the strap (26) including a priming station (12) is disclosed.
