Method for increasing the plastic deformability of a workpiece using an absorption agent
A method for at least locally increasing the plasticity of a metal workpiece, which contains in particular an aluminum alloy, wherein the workpiece is irradiated in order to increase its temperature, and an associated production device, is provided. In order to be able to more quickly and thoroughly heat specific regions of a metal workpiece than other regions in a targeted manner, wherein it is possible to heat these regions more quickly and thoroughly with the same radiation output, while the surface of the workpiece remains largely unaffected, it is proposed that an absorbent be applied at least locally to the workpiece prior to irradiation thereof, wherein the degree of absorption of the absorbent for the radiation is greater than the degree of absorption of the workpiece for the radiation.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A STEEL STRIP WITH IMPROVED BONDING OF METALLIC HOT-DIP COATINGS
A cold-rolled or hot-rolled steel strip having a metal coating, the steel strip having iron as the main constituent and, in addition to carbon, an Mn content of 4.1 to 8.0 wt. % and optionally one or more of the alloy elements Al, Si, Cr, B, Ti, V, Nb and/or Mo. The surface of the uncoated steel strip is cleaned, a layer of pure iron is applied to the cleaned surface, an oxygen-containing iron-based layer is applied to the layer of pure iron and contains more than five mass percent oxygen. The steel strip is then annealed and, to attain a surface consisting substantially of metallic iron, is subjected to a reduction treatment in a reducing furnace while being annealed. The steel strip is then coated with the metallic coating by hot dipping. Uniform and reproducible adhesion conditions are hereby achieved for the metallic coating on the steel strip surface.
NON-ORIENTED ELECTRICAL STEEL SHEET AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
Provided is a non-oriented electrical steel sheet having excellent adhesion with an insulating coating even if the thickness of the insulating coating is reduced. The non-oriented electrical steel sheet of the present disclosure has an insulating coating on at least one surface of the steel sheet, where the insulating coating has a P-concentrated layer on both a surface side and an interface side with a steel substrate, and a P concentration of the P-concentrated layer is higher than a P concentration in the steel substrate.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING GRAIN-ORIENTED ELECTRICAL STEEL SHEET
A method for producing a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet which has an intermediate layer containing silicon oxide as a main component on a surface of a base steel sheet in which a forsterite film is substantially absent and has an insulation coating on a surface of the intermediate layer includes: a decarburization annealing process of obtaining a decarburization-annealed steel sheet which has the oxygen content or 320 ppm or less and the carbon content of 25 ppm or less by subjecting a cold rolled steel sheet containing Si to decarburization annealing; a final annealing process of heating the decarburization-annealed steel sheet in a state in which a surface of the decarburization-annealed steel sheet is coated with an annealing separator to subject a steel sheet to secondary recrystallization; a removal process of obtaining a finally-annealed steel sheet by removing the annealing separator on the steel sheet which has been subjected to the final annealing process; an intermediate layer forming process of forming the intermediate layer by subjecting the finally-annealed steel sheet to thermal oxidation annealing; and an insulation coating forming process of forming the insulation coating on the finally-annealed steel sheet having the intermediate layer formed thereon.
Method and system for using an irreversible thermo-chromatic indicator for quality assurance of a part subjected to heat treating
A system and method of verifying that a part is heat treated to strengthen the part. The part is marked with a thermo-chromatic composition before heat treating. The part is then heat treated to strengthen the part and change the color of the thermo-chromatic composition to indicate successful completion of the heat treating process. A detector may act to prevent the inclusion of a non-heat treated part in an assembly by disabling an assembly tool. A controller may also provide data related to the completion of the heat treating process to be recorded in a database.
