Method for smelting nickel oxide ore
A smelting method capable of obtaining an iron-nickel alloy having a high nickel grade of 4% or higher by effectively facilitating a reduction reaction of pellets formed using a nickel oxide ore as a raw material. The present invention is a method for smelting a nickel oxide ore, by which an iron-nickel alloy is obtained by forming pellets from a nickel oxide ore and reducing and heating the pellets. In the pellet production step S1, a mixture is obtained by mixing raw materials that contain at least a nickel oxide ore and a carbonaceous reducing agent. In the reduction step S2, a furnace floor carbonaceous reducing agent is laid on the floor of the smelting furnace in advance when placing the obtained pellets in the smelting furnace and the pellets are placed on the furnace floor carbonaceous reducing agent and then reduced and heated.

PROCESS AND PLANT FOR RECYCLING ZINC OXIDE RESIDUES
A process and its relating plant for recycling zinc oxide residues. Thereby, zinc oxide residues are granulated to particles with a size of d.sub.80 between 0.3 and 5 mm, preferably between 0.5 and 2 mm. These particles are fed into a roaster where they are thermally treated at a temperature in the range of 500 and 1.200? C., preferably 800 to 1.100? C. in a fluidized bed to form a calcine. The zinc oxide residues are zinc oxide dusts with a particle size below d.sub.80 100 ?m, preferably below d.sub.80 75 ?m coming from kiln, submerges lances furnaces, ferric reduction furnaces, galvanizing and/or recycling processes, particularly recycling of steel, copper, lead, nickel and/or electronic scrap, and/or that the zinc oxide residues comes from foundry for lead and zinc, ashes and/or dross from a Zamac process, oxide zinc ash, catalysts, melting and casting of Zn and/or zinc slag.

The invention relates to a hot-briquetting or hot-compacting installation, in particular for directly reduced iron, having at least one first row (1) of presses with one or more first roll presses (2), and having at least one second row (3) of presses with one or more second roll presses (4), having at least one first cooling conveyor (7) beneath the first row (1) of presses, and a second cooling conveyor (8) beneath the second row (3) of presses, and having a plurality of material lines (6), which are assigned in each case to the individual roll presses (2, 4) and via which the briquetted or compacted material exiting from the roll presses (2, 4) is discharged to the cooling conveyors (7, 8). The material lines (6) are provided with one or more diverters (9), which can be adjusted such that the material from the roll presses (2, 4) of the first row (1) of presses and of the second row (3) of presses is discharged optionally in each case to the first cooling conveyor (7) or to the second cooling conveyor (8).

PLANT AND METHOD FOR RECOVERING AND TREATING RESIDUES FROM CRUSHING FERROUS SCRAP
A plant for recovering and treating residues from crushing scrap is provided. The plant includes a first plant part and a second plant part. The first plant part is provided with crushing and separation means configured to extract ferrous materials, non-ferrous metals and plastic materials from the residues from crushing. The separation means are provided with a granulator system configured to reduce, in dry mode and without pre-screening stages, the residues from crushing into a stream of granular material. The second plant part is provided with means to treat and size the plastic materials configured to transform the plastic materials into additive material to be used, in particular, in iron and steel plants such as blast furnaces, electric arc furnaces or suchlike. The means to treat and size the plastic materials includes a dry system for cutting and/or grinding the plastic materials.
