FABRICATION OF LOW DEFECTIVITY ELECTROCHROMIC DEVICES
Prior electrochromic devices frequently suffer from high levels of defectivity. The defects may be manifest as pin holes or spots where the electrochromic transition is impaired. This is unacceptable for many applications such as electrochromic architectural glass. Improved electrochromic devices with low defectivity can be fabricated by depositing certain layered components of the electrochromic device in a single integrated deposition system. While these layers are being deposited and/or treated on a substrate, for example a glass window, the substrate never leaves a controlled ambient environment, for example a low pressure controlled atmosphere having very low levels of particles. These layers may be deposited using physical vapor deposition.
Method for producing press-hardened components for motor vehicles
A method for making a vehicle body component includes forming a generally flat plate of unhardened, hot-formable sheet steel with a marginal shape which corresponds essentially to the developed configuration of the finished vehicle body component. The formed plate is hot-formed and hardened in a single press tool to define a sheet profile which corresponds to the configuration of the finished vehicle body component, and a surface coating is applied to the sheet profile.

TITANIUM CASTING PRODUCT FOR HOT ROLLING AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
Provided is a titanium cast product made of commercially pure titanium, the titanium cast product being produced by electron-beam remelting or plasma arc melting, comprising: a melted and resolidified layer in a range of 1 mm or more in depth at a surface serving as a surface to be rolled, the melted and resolidified layer being obtained by adding one or more kinds of β stabilizer elements to the surface and melting and resolidifying the surface. An average value of β stabilizer element(s) concentration in a range of within 1 mm in depth is higher than β stabilizer element(s) concentration in a base material by, in mass %, equal to or more than 0.08 mass % and equal to or less than 1.50 mass %. As the material containing the β stabilizer element, powder, a chip, wire, or foil is used. As means for melting a surface layer, electron-beam heating and plasma arc heating are used.
METHOD FOR ALTERING SURFACE OF METAL, AND METALLIC PRODUCT
Provide a metal surface reforming method enabling metallic products with superior characteristics such as surface hardness, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, high temperature oxidation, high temperature corrosion, and environmental corrosion and the like.
Halogenation treatment of heating and retaining a base material in an atmosphere containing a halogen based gas is performed on a base material of iron based metal or nickel based metal, then nitride processing of heating and retaining the halogenated base material described above in an atmosphere containing a nitrogen source gas is performed, then chromizing treatment is performed by placing the nitrided base material in a powder containing metal chromium powder to form a surface reformed layer on the base material described above. These metallic products obtained have high hardness, superior heat resistance and corrosion resistance, and exhibit superior performance in high temperature oxidation, high temperature corrosion, erosion, and cavitation and the like environments. Further, the metallic products described above exhibit superior performance in acid or alkali environments, neutral environments, and corrosive environments such as chlorides like salt water.
Erosion resistant coating
A platinum plus chromium coating applied to the roots and firtrees of turbine blades where the inclusion of chromium creates a single phase outer zone which minimizes diffusion paths for sulphur which can preferentially diffuse down phase boundaries and enables a chromium rich outer oxide scale to form on top of the coating.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING CURVED THIN-WALLED INTERMETALLIC COMPOUND COMPONENT BY WINDING MANDREL WITH METAL FOIL STRIPS
The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a curved thin-walled intermetallic compound component by winding a mandrel with metal foil strips, which comprises the following steps: designing a prefabricated blank; preparing a support mandrel; determining thicknesses and layer numbers of foil strips; determining widths of the foil strips; establishing a laying process; pretreating surfaces of the foil strips; laying A foil and B foil; carrying out bulge forming on the prefabricated blank; carrying out diffusion reaction and densification treatment on a bulged component; and carrying out subsequent treatment of a thin-walled component. The present invention can solve the problems that impurities generated in the separation process of a support mould and a laminated foil prefabricated blank influence the final performance of a part, and a single homogeneous intermetallic compound component in thickness direction has poor plasticity and toughness at room temperature.
Surface-treated metal plate, cell container, and cell
A surface-treated metal plate including: a metal plate; and a nickel-cobalt binary alloy layer formed on the metal plate. When a part having a content ratio of oxygen atoms of 5 atomic % or more as measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic analysis is an oxide coating film, the nickel-cobalt binary alloy layer contains the oxide coating film with a thickness of 0.5 to 30 nm on a surface thereof, and when a pressure cooker test including temperature increasing, retention for 72 hours under a water-vapor atmosphere at a temperature of 105° C. and a relative humidity of 100% RH, and temperature decreasing is performed, the amount of increase in the thickness of the oxide coating film is 28 nm or less.
COMPONENT OF A MOLYBDENUM ALLOY AND METHOD FOR FORMING AN OXIDATION PROTECTION LAYER THEREFOR
Disclosed is a method for improving the high-temperature stability of a component, in particular a blade of a turbomachine, formed at least partially from a molybdenum alloy that, besides molybdenum, silicon, boron and titanium, comprises iron and/or yttrium. The method comprises depositing a diffusion barrier layer formed from technically pure molybdenum or tungsten or being an alloy based on molybdenum and/or tungsten at least on an outer surface, which comprises the molybdenum alloy, of the component, and depositing silicon on the diffusion barrier layer to form molybdenum silicides and/or tungsten silicides.
