The methods and systems of lower the grounding potential of an AC electrical grid for protecting a potable water delivery systems from corrosion due to a chemical redox reaction between protective concentration of disinfection chemicals in water and iron, lead and/or copper metal pipes within the potable water delivery system. The methods protect the surface of interactive metals more noble than zinc. These methods are also effective in corrosion protection of the national metallic infrastructure of metals more noble than zinc, such as street signs, lights stands, bridges, and any systems connected to the electrical grid.

Corrosion protection using a sacrificial anode

Corrosion protection of steel in concrete is provided by locating an anode assembly including both a sacrificial anode and an impressed current anode in contact with the concrete and providing an impressed current from a power supply to the anode. The impressed current anode forms a perforated sleeve surrounding a rod of the sacrificial anode material with an activated ionically-conductive filler material between. The system can be used without the power supply in sacrificial mode or when the power supply is connected, the impressed current anode can be powered to provide an impressed current system and/or to recharge the sacrificial anode from sacrificial anode corrosion products.

CARBON FIBER TEXTILE REINFORCING MEMBER WITH ANODIC METAL LINE AND METHOD OF REPAIRING AND REINFORCING CONCRETE STRUCTURE USING THE SAME

Provided are a carbon fiber textile reinforcing material with an anode metal line which can be repaired and reinforced with a high stiffness and non-corrosive carbon fiber textile by disposing a carbon fiber textile reinforcing material with an anodic metal line functioning as a conductor and a reinforcing material on a deteriorated cross-section of concrete, can maximize repair and reinforcement of a reinforced concrete structure by preventing additional corrosion of a concrete embedded reinforcing bar using a sacrificial anode arranged on the carbon fiber textile, can prevent corrosion of an existing reinforced concrete structure and can be used as a reinforcing material and a corrosion preventing material of a new concrete structure, and a method for repairing and reinforcing a reinforced concrete structure using the same.

TWO-STEP SEALING OF ANODIZED ALUMINUM COATINGS

A method includes providing a workpiece with at least one surface having an anodized aluminum coating and a trivalent chromium sealant. The at least one surface of the workpiece is submerged in a post-treatment sealant solution for 0.5 to 20 minutes. The sealant composition consists essentially of a corrosion inhibitor formulation, a water soluble polymer, an organic complexing agent, and an oxidant. The corrosion inhibitor formulation is formulated from at least one anodic corrosion inhibitor compound, at least one cathodic corrosion inhibitor compound, or a combination thereof. A concentration of each of the corrosion inhibitor formulation, the water soluble polymer, the organic complexing agent, and the oxidant is each in a range of 1-50 mM.

TWO-STEP SEALING OF ANODIZED ALUMINUM COATINGS

Photovolatic powered cathodic protection probe

A remotely operated vehicle (ROV) compatible photovoltaic powered cathodic protection (CP) probe can measure voltage potential of subsea structures. In an embodiment, the CP's meter is integrated and able to send CP data topside. The CP meter's compact display module also houses the telemetry board to send CP readings, via an ROV serial, topside. The CP probe does not require a battery and can be used standalone or connected through an ROV to topside logging and display. Further, the CP probe can monitor a plurality of CP voltages and other conditions such as an electrical field gradient.
