PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A SYNTHESIS GAS
Process for manufacturing a hydrogen-containing synthesis gas from a natural gas feedstock, comprising the conversion of said natural gas into a raw product gas and purification of said product gas, the process having a heat input provided by combustion of a fuel; said process comprises a step of conversion of a carbonaceous feedstock, and at least a portion of said fuel is a gaseous fuel obtained by said step of conversion of said carbonaceous feedstock, and the Wobbe Index of said fuel is increased by a step of carbon dioxide removal or methanation.
PRESSURE SWING ADSORPTION PROCESS AND PRESSURE SWING ADSORPTION APPARATUS
According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a pressure swing adsorption process of a hydrogen production system is provided.
The hydrogen production system comprises a desulfurization process for removing sulfur components from raw natural gas; a reforming reaction process for producing a reformed gas containing hydrogen generated by the reaction of natural gas through the desulfurization process and steam; and a pressure swing adsorption process of concentrating the hydrogen using a pressure swing adsorption from the reformed gas.
In a desorption step of the pressure swing adsorption process, a cocurrent depressurization and a countercurrent depressurization are simultaneously performed.
SYN-GAS SYSTEM FOR GENERATING POWER AND HYDROGEN
A power generation system that includes a membrane reformer assembly, wherein syngas is formed from a steam reforming reaction of natural gas and steam, and wherein hydrogen is separated from the syngas via a hydrogen-permeable membrane, a combustor for an oxy-combustion of a fuel, an expander to generate power, and an ion transport membrane assembly, wherein oxygen is separated from an oxygen-containing stream to be combusted in the combustor. Various embodiments of the power generation system and a process for generating power using the same are provided.

A power generation system that includes a membrane reformer assembly, wherein syngas is formed from a steam reforming reaction of natural gas and steam, and wherein hydrogen is separated from the syngas via a hydrogen-permeable membrane, a combustor for an oxy-combustion of a fuel, an expander to generate power, and an ion transport membrane assembly, wherein oxygen is separated from an oxygen-containing stream to be combusted in the combustor. Various embodiments of the power generation system and a process for generating power using the same are provided.
HYDROGEN GENERATION ASSEMBLIES AND HYDROGEN PURIFICATION DEVICES
Hydrogen generation assemblies, hydrogen purification devices, and their components are disclosed. In some embodiments, the devices may include a permeate frame with a membrane support structure having first and second membrane support plates that are free from perforations and that include a plurality of microgrooves configured to provide flow channels for at least part of the permeate stream. In some embodiments, the assemblies may include a return conduit fluidly connecting a buffer tank and a reformate conduit, a return valve assembly configured to manage flow in the return conduit, and a control assembly configured to operate a fuel processing assembly between run and standby modes based, at least in part, on detected pressure in the buffer tank and configured to direct the return valve assembly to allow product hydrogen stream to flow from the buffer tank to the reformate conduit when the fuel processing assembly is in the standby mode.
PRODUCTION OF LIQUID HYDROCARBONS, BIOFUELS AND UNCONTAMINATED CO2 FROM GASEOUS FEEDSTOCK
There is provided a method for producing hydrocarbon compounds. The method comprising: producing a syngas by introducing a fuel stream comprising a reformable fuel into a reforming system (steam reformer, autothermal reformer, cold plasma reformer and/or internal-reforming fuel cell), and wherein the syngas comprises H.sub.2, CO and CO.sub.2, and has a ratio of [H.sub.2]/[CO] of about 1.4 to about 2.5; producing a decarbonated and dehydrated syngas from the syngas having a ratio of [CO.sub.2]/[CO+CO.sub.2] of no higher than 0.6; performing a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis on the decarbonated and dehydrated syngas in the presence of a cobalt- or iron-based Fischer-Tropsch catalyst, said Fischer-Tropsch catalyst comprising pellets of trilobe, cylindrical, hollow cylinder or spherical construction with diameter about 0.5 mm to about 3.0 mm and aspect ratio of 1 to 3.5, to produce a product stream comprising the hydrocarbon compounds; and recycling aqueous products and/or tail gas.
Process for Producing Hydrogen Product Having Reduced Carbon Intensity
A method for producing hydrogen product having a low carbon intensity is provided. The method includes the steps of: (a) converting a hydrocarbon feedstock to a hydrogen product using a hydrocarbon reforming process; (b) providing at least some of the required energy for the hydrogen production process from a biomass power plant; and (c) processing one or more flue gas streams from the biomass power plant in a carbon capture unit to reduce CO.sub.2e emissions. The hydrogen product has a carbon intensity preferably less than about 1.0 kg CO.sub.2e/kg H.sub.2, more preferably less than 0.45 kg CO.sub.2e/kg H.sub.2, and most preferably less than 0.0 kg CO.sub.2e/kg H.sub.2.
Methods, Systems, And Apparatuses For Utilizing A Fischer-Tropsch Purge Stream
Systems, apparatuses and methods of utilizing a Fischer-Tropsch (FT) tail gas purge stream for recycling are disclosed. One or more methods include removing an FT tail gas purge stream from an FT tail gas produced by an FT reactor, treating the FT tail gas purge stream with steam in a water gas shift (WGS) reactor, having a WGS catalyst, to produce a shifted FT purge stream including carbon dioxide and hydrogen, and removing at least a portion of the carbon dioxide from the shifted FT purge stream, producing a carbon dioxide stream and a treated purge stream. Other embodiments are also disclosed.
Burner assembly with low NOx emissions
The present disclosure is directed to a burner assembly for generating a heat source. The burner assembly may include a combustion plate having a first surface and a second surface. The combustion plate may include a first plurality of holes extending from the first surface to the second surface arranged in a first circle and a second plurality of holes extending from the first surface to the second surface arranged in a second circle. The first circle and second circle may be arranged in concentric circles. The burner assembly may further be configured to have at least one of the holes having a longitudinal axis extending at a first acute angle from a plane of the combustion plate. The burner assembly may further be configured to have at least one of the holes having the longitudinal axis extending at a second acute angle from a tangent line of one of the concentric circles on the plane of the combustion plate.
