Method and System for Liquifying a Gas
A method and system for producing liquid air wherein liquid refrigerant is cycled between two core tanks maintained at a temperature sufficient to liquify compressed air passed through condensing tubing in the interior of the core tanks. Liquid refrigerant is cycled by alternating high pressure gas from a high pressure tank to one of the core tanks, which forces liquid refrigerant from this tank through an expansion device to expand a portion of the liquid refrigerant to absorb heat in the other core tank, the resulting refrigerant gas being driven into a low pressure tank. A compression device transfers the refrigerant gas from the low pressure tank to the high pressure tank and maintains the pressure in the high pressure tank. Connections between the low and high pressure tanks and the core tanks are reversed with each cycle.

The hydrocarbon-containing feed can be heated to produce a heated feed that can be separated into a vapor and a liquid. At least a portion of the vapor and/or at least a portion of the liquid and a particle stream can be fed into a pyrolysis zone and contacted therein to effect pyrolysis of the hydrocarbons and produce a pyrolysis effluent.
HYDROGEN SUPPLY SYSTEM
A hydrogen supply system supplying hydrogen, the hydrogen supply system including: a dehydrogenation reaction unit acquiring a hydrogen-containing gas by performing a dehydrogenation reaction of a raw material containing a hydride; and a control unit controlling the hydrogen supply system, in which in a case in which generation of the hydrogen-containing gas in the dehydrogenation reaction unit stops, the control unit causes the hydrogen supply unit to supply hydrogen to the dehydrogenation reaction unit, and the hydrogen supply unit supplies at least one of the hydrogen-containing gas between the dehydrogenation reaction unit and a vapor-liquid separating unit separating a dehydrogenation product from the hydrogen-containing gas and the hydrogen-containing gas separated by the vapor-liquid separating unit separating a dehydrogenation product from the hydrogen-containing gas to the dehydrogenation reaction unit.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SEPARATING A SYNTHESIS GAS BY CRYOGENIC DISTILLATION
In a process for separating a mixture containing carbon monoxide, hydrogen and carbon dioxide, the mixture cooled in a heat exchanger is contacted by a stream of liquid methanol at a temperature below 40 C. to produce carbon dioxide enriched methanol and a carbon dioxide depleted gas relative to the cooled mixture, the carbon dioxide depleted gas is cooled in the heat exchanger and is sent to a separation unit to produce a carbon monoxide enriched stream and a hydrogen enriched stream and the streams enriched in carbon monoxide and hydrogen are heated in the heat exchanger by exchanging heat with the mixture.
Process for the co-production of methanol and ammonia
A process for the combined preparation of methanol and ammonia based on primary steam reforming a hydrocarbon feed stock and adiabatic secondary reforming with oxygen enriched air from electrolysis of water.
Method and apparatus for producing a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen
In a method for producing a gaseous mixture of CO and H.sub.2, a first gas comprising at least 50% CO is compressed in a first compressor to form a first compressed gas cooled to a first temperature and mixes with a second gas comprising at least 50% hydrogen in order to form the gaseous mixture, at least one of the first and second gases originating from a cryogenic distillation separation unit in which a feed gas containing H.sub.2 and CO cools in a first heat exchanger and is separated in at least one distillation column and at least one part of the second gas heats in the separation unit to a third temperature lower than the first temperature and is then sent to mix with the first gas.
Method and apparatus for separating a synthesis gas
In a method for separating a synthesis gas containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen, a synthesis gas flow from a synthesis gas source is compressed in a compressor and separated into at least three gaseous products. If there is insufficient synthesis gas, at least three separation products are recycled in the compressor in order to separate said products.
A PLANT AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING SYNTHESIS GAS
A synthesis gas plant for producing synthesis gas, said synthesis gas plant including an electrically heated reforming reactor system including a first catalyst active for catalyzing steam methane reforming reaction, said electrically heated reforming reactor system being arranged to receive a feed gas comprising hydrocarbons and outletting a first synthesis gas stream. The synthesis gas plant also includes a post converter downstream the electrically heated reforming reactor system, said post converter housing a second catalyst active for catalyzing steam methane reforming/methanation reactions and reverse water gas shift reaction, said post converter being arranged to receive at least part of said first synthesis gas stream and outletting a second synthesis gas stream. Furthermore, the synthesis gas plant includes means for adding a heated CO.sub.2 rich gas stream to the at least part of the first synthesis gas stream upstream the post converter and/or into the post converter.
METHOD FOR SYNTHESIS GAS PURIFICATION
The present invention relates to an integrated method and apparatus for providing a synthesis gas to a cryogenic separation unit installed for separating synthesis gas into products selected from carbon monoxide, crude hydrogen, methane-rich fuel and syngas with a particular H.sub.2:CO ratio. More specifically, the invention relates to the purification of synthesis gas routed to a downstream cryogenic separation unit and minimizing temperature disturbances in the separation unit.
DIRECT OXIDATION OF HYDROGEN SULFIDE IN A HYDROPROCESSING RECYLCE GAS STREAM WITH HYDROGEN PURIFICATION
A process and system for treating a hydroprocessing unit effluent gas stream for recycling includes introducing the effluent gas stream into a hydrogen purification zone and recovering a hydrogen-rich gas stream and a liquid stream containing a mixture that includes C1 to C4 hydrocarbons and H.sub.2S which is then mixed with an oxidant and fed to an oxidation unit containing catalyst for conversion of the H.sub.2S to elemental sulfur vapors that is separated for recovery of the elemental sulfur, and recovering a sweetened mixture that includes C1 to C4 hydrocarbons. Alternatively, the hydroprocessing unit effluent gas stream containing H.sub.2S is cooled, contacted with a solvent to absorb the C1 to C4 hydrocarbons and H.sub.2S, with the hydrogen-rich stream being recovered for recycling to the hydroprocessing unit, and the rich liquid solvent being flashed to produce a lean solvent stream for recycling to the adsorption zone and a mixed gas stream that includes the C1 to C4 hydrocarbons and H.sub.2S that is passed to an oxidation zone and is reacted with an oxidant in the presence of a catalyst to complete the process as described above for the recovery of elemental sulfur and a mixture that includes the sweetened C1 to C4 hydrocarbons.
