PROCESS FOR INTEGRATING A PARTIAL OXIDATION PLANT WITH AN OXY-COMBUSTION PLANT UTILIZING A STEAM TURBINE
A method of co-producing a carbon dioxide containing stream and a syngas stream, including introducing a high-pressure hydrocarbon containing stream and a high-pressure oxygen containing stream into a syngas generator, thereby producing a high-pressure syngas stream, introducing a low-pressure hydrocarbon containing stream and a low-pressure oxygen containing stream into an oxy-combustion device, thereby producing a low-pressure carbon dioxide containing stream, and introducing the low-pressure carbon dioxide containing stream into a waste het boiler, thereby producing steam, and introducing the steam into a work expander, thereby generating work and a carbon dioxide containing stream.
Operation method for hydrogen production apparatus, and hydrogen production apparatus
A hydrogen production apparatus including a desulfurizer, a reformer, a CO transformer a gas flow path, and a purge gas supply path which is provided where a purge gas is supplied to an upstream side of a pressure feeding apparatus in the gas flow path, prior to a stopping operation, a purging step of replacing gas within the gas flow path with the purge gas and filling the purge gas into the gas flow path is performed, and in a start-up operation in which a heating means is operated to increase the temperature of the gas within the gas flow path, which is performed prior to a hydrogen purification operation, a pressure increasing step of supplying the purge gas from the purge gas supply path to the closed circulation circuit and increasing the pressure within the closed circulation circuit is performed.
SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES FOR MOLTEN MEDIA PYROLYSIS
Systems and methods for molten media pyrolysis for the conversion of methane into hydrogen and carbon-containing particles are disclosed. The systems and methods include the introduction of seed particles into the molten media to facilitate the growth of larger, more manageable carbon-containing particles. Additionally or alternatively, the systems and methods can include increasing the residence time of carbon-containing particles within the molten media to facilitate the growth of larger carbon-containing particles.
A Method For Improving Fuel Pyrolysis In A Wave Reformer Using Channel Area Contraction
This invention is for a hydrogen generation system using a wave reformer in which shock and expansion waves are created in a manner causing head-on colliding shock waves and multi-stage compression where reacting gases within the wave reformer are heated and compressed to thermally crack or decompose one or more fuel sources, such as hydrocarbon fuels, to generate a fuel product containing hydrogen, where the internal configuration of channels within the wave reformer are defined by a shaped portion along a length thereof.
PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF HYDROGEN
The invention relates to a process to convert hydrocarbons into hydrogen and a separate carbon phase, whereby in step a) the hydrocarbons are contacted with a molten salt, preferably comprising Zinc Chloride, at temperatures preferably above 500 C. and in step b) a solid or liquid carbon phase is separated from the molten salt at a lower temperature, preferably below 150 C. The molten salt is then preferably re-heated to the desired temperature and recycled to step a). The process avoids the emission of CO.sub.2, making the hydrogen produced in this way a zero CO.sub.2 emission fuel and which also produces a carbon product produced having a use value.
Reformer for a fuel cell system
A fuel cell system comprising a fuel cell stack, an evaporator for evaporating a mixture of methanol and water to be forwarded through a catalytic reformer for producing portions of free hydrogen. The fuel cell stack being composed of a number of proton exchange membrane fuel cells each featuring electrodes in form of an anode and a cathode for delivering an electric current. The system provides an enhanced catalytic reformer for a fuel cell system, which enables a compact design of the reformer for integration into a flat, rack mountable system.
MOULDED INSULATION BODIES
Moulded insulation bodies, processes for the production thereof and use thereof consisting essentially of ceramic material comprising SiO.sub.2 fibers and Al.sub.2O.sub.3 fibers which has been produced using Al.sub.2O.sub.3 sol as a binder and kilned at a temperature of above 800 C. for insulation of the ends of cracking tubes of a tubular reactor for performing a steam reforming process for generating synthesis gas which project out of the reactor heating space.
Apparatuses For Gasifying Glycerol Using Solar Energy, Systems Including The Apparatuses, and Methods of Using The Apparatuses
Apparatuses for gasifying glycerol using solar energy, system including the apparatuses, and methods of using the apparatuses are provided. The apparatuses may include a concentrated solar dish comprising an opening and a gasifying reactor comprising a chamber. An entrance of the chamber may be aligned to the opening. The apparatuses may also include a thermal insulator disposed on outer surfaces of the concentrated solar dish and the gasifying reactor and a pipe in the thermal insulator. The pipe may be configured to deliver glycerol into the chamber of the gasifying reactor in the form of atomized mist. The glycerol may be delivered to a portion of the chamber adjacent the opening.
