Described herein is a hip extension device adapted to be worn by a user. The device is secured adjacent to the hip of a user and forms a ledge-like resting surface for the supporting of objects for carrying. The device includes an inner structural member comprised of hingedly coupled rigid plates movable from an open position to a closed position. A removable cover portion is placed around the inner structural member and allows a user access to an inner cavity for the storage of items. A clip portion is coupled to the device to allow for securing to the user's clothing against their body side. To offer additional support, the device may include a strap.

A device for carrying a surfboard, similar sporting equipment or other objects. One embodiment is comprised of webbing material with fixed loop having a loop buckle that slides along the fixed loop and a strap element that in combination with the loop buckle creates a secondary adjustable loop. The secondary adjustable loop is used to hold a surfboard or other object securely in place and the fixed loop supports the surfboard from one of the user's shoulder allowing hands free operation. When not utilized as a carrier the device can be worn, such as a belt. The user keeps the fixed loop compressed together, wraps the carrier around his/her waist, through the loop buckle and then attaches it back onto itself. A personal flotation device can be attached to the strap element so that the carrier and personal flotation device form a single unit.

Carriers for securely carrying yoga mats are disclosed. In one embodiment, for example, a carrier comprises a planar portion and a shoulder strap portion coupled to the planar portion. The planar portion includes a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a securing strap coupled to the first surface. In operation, the first surface of the planar portion is positionable to interface with a yoga mat before the planar portion is rolled up with the yoga mat. The yoga mat can continue to be rolled up until the planar portion wraps around an exterior surface of the rolled-up mat. The shoulder strap is then fed through a securing strap on the carrier to secure the carrier to the yoga mat. The shoulder strap can then be used by a yoga practitioner to carry the yoga mat.

A stabilizing assembly for an optical device includes a base plate having a blade curved to fit against a person's torso, a strap extending outwardly from the base plate; a socket defined in the base plate and a mounting screw spaced from the socket. The blade extends below the base plate and an adjustment member is located on the underside of the base plate a distance from a lower end of the blade. The optical device is engageable with the stabilizing assembly in two ways. Firstly, the blade is inserted between the person's torso and a waistband or belt. The strap is passed around the person's neck and an end of a monopod engaged with the optical device is inserted into the socket. Secondly, the optical device is directly engaged with the mounting screw and the assembly is placed on the ground supported by the blade and adjustment member.
