Transportable wastewater treatment systems and methods
Transportable wastewater treatment systems and wastewater treatment methods are provided, which employ a clarification unit to treat highly polluted wastewater (e.g., with BODs over 400 mg/l and up to 1500 mg/l) with a small footprint and without elaborate infrastructure or even without grid-based energy sources. The clarification unit comprises an anaerobic digestion unit configured to receive influent and reduce an organic load thereof to yield a first stream, an aerobic anoxic air lift reactor configured to treat the first stream and further reduce the organic load thereof to yield a second stream, and an aerobic unit configured to clarify the second stream and deliver effluent, the aerobic unit comprising a plurality of vertical sheets configured to support growth of algae on biofilm, a sprinkling system configured to sprinkle the second stream onto the vertical sheets, and an organic matter removal unit configured to collect organic mass falling off the vertical sheets.
Transfer assembly and system for aquaculture
A system for transferring marine life within an aquaculture facility including a plurality of segregated storage facilities each containing water for marine life, maintained within a predetermined temperature range and supported at independent ground levels. The storage facilities are successively disposed and structured to contain marine life at different stages of growth. A transfer assembly includes a path of fluid flow interconnecting successive ones of said plurality of storage facilities in fluid communication with one another, wherein at least a majority of a length of said path of fluid flow is disposed beneath the independent ground levels at a predetermined depth, which is sufficient to facilitate maintenance of the path of fluid flow within the predetermined temperature range, via geothermal cooling. The transfer assembly may also connect a holding facility, which may be dimensioned and structured to transfer mature marine life, possibly on an on-demand basis, to the harvesting facility.
Wastewater treatment system and methods
Disclosed are wastewater treatment systems and methods of treating wastewater. In particular, this disclosure provides a method of lowering the biological oxygen demand, total nitrogen, total suspended solids, and phosphorous within wastewater containing human excrements. In addition to improving the quality of the wastewater on a per Liter basis, this disclosure also provides methods and systems that reduce the absolute quantity of total nitrogen, total suspended solids, and phosphorous released into the environment through effluent. The disclosed methods and systems also provide ways of reintroducing water into the environment.
NEAR-ZERO MAINTENANCE MEMBRANE-BASED INTEGRATED PURIFICATION DEVICE FOR DRINKING WATER SUPPLY OF VILLAGES AND TOWNS AND A METHOD FOR TREATING SOURCE WATER THEREOF
A near-zero maintenance integrated purification device for drinking water supply of villages and towns and a method for treating source water using this device are provided to solve the multi-pollution problems caused by microorganisms, turbidity, iron, manganese, taste and odor, and organic matter in the drinking water sources of villages and towns. The device includes a small-spacing folding plate speed sink regulating water tank, a small diameter tube reactor, a granular active carbon (GAC) slow-speed filter tank, a gravity-driven ultrafiltration membrane tank and an ipsilateral U-turn corridor clean water tank. The near-zero maintenance integrated purification device is applicable to different types of water sources (e.g., groundwater, lake water, reservoir water, spring water, snowmelt water, cellar water and rain water, etc.), and could efficiently remove kinds of pollutants, improving the biological and chemical safety of drinking water.

A system for removing undesirable compounds from contaminated air includes a biofilter having an alkaline material introduction system and a fuzzy-logic based controller. A contaminant, such as hydrogen sulfide, is removed from contaminated air by passing the contaminated air through the biofilter.
PhAGR basin
A scalable phytoremediation system that uses rock medium supporting a Salicaceae (poplar or willow) tree rhizosphere in a basin with controllable volume and water depth that results in tertiary treatment requirements for organic BOD, pathogens, ammonia-nitrogen, nitrate-nitrogen and phosphorous pollutants and PFAS. COC removal is achieved by pollutant sorption, plant uptake and increased microbial mineralization activity. Phyto basin achieves faster pollutant mineralization to achieve regulated water quality standards. The Basin reactor system uses photosynthesis and rhizosphere dynamics to create a predictable reactor into carbon-rich microbial biomass to remove waste water pollutants (COC). The Basin uses <10% of the energy required for alternative tertiary treatment system. The Basin COC treatment functions year-round including through the trees dormant season.

The invention relates to a filter unit (1, 19), having: at least one warp-knitted spacer (3) which comprises a first and a second cover layer (4; 5) having in each case a multiplicity of openings (6) which are delimited by peripheral regions (7), wherein threads (8) extend from the peripheral regions (7) of the first cover layer (4) to peripheral regions (7) of the second cover layer (5), and wherein the at least one warp-knitted spacer is rolled, twisted, and/or at least in one portion is compressed.

The invention relates to a filter unit (1, 19), having: at least one warp-knitted spacer (3) which comprises a first and a second cover layer (4; 5) having in each case a multiplicity of openings (6) which are delimited by peripheral regions (7), wherein threads (8) extend from the peripheral regions (7) of the first cover layer (4) to peripheral regions (7) of the second cover layer (5), and wherein the at least one warp-knitted spacer is rolled, twisted, and/or at least in one portion is compressed.
