PHOSPHORUS RELEASE REACTOR FOR WATER TREATMENT
The invention relates to treatment of microorganisms from an activated sludge process operating with enhanced biological phosphorus removal in a reactor with baffles or other devices to induce similar plug-flow effort, designed to optimally release phosphorus and/or magnesium from the microorganisms with or without chemical addition. Further, the disclosure relates to a process designed to produce both a lower solids, phosphorus and magnesium enriched liquid stream and a higher solids, phosphorus and magnesium enriched stream. The reactor operates to give optimal performance by operating in a plug-flow mode.
LIQUID WASTE TREATMENT SYSTEM
A liquid waste treatment system includes: a baffle tank subsystem for particle settling; a preprocess tank subsystem downstream of the baffle tank subsystem; a process tank subsystem downstream of the preprocess tank subsystem; and a storage tank subsystem downstream of the process tank subsystem for the storage of treated liquid. A Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) processing module may be included and may be inserted into the preprocess tank subsystem or implemented in a second process tank downstream of the process tank subsystem. A faster disinfection may occur in the process tank subsystem, and a slower disinfection may occur in the second process tank according to distinct respective kill curves. An electrochemical cell may be operated in a pulse mode in liquid waste in a pulsed mode.
BIOCHAR-ANAEROBIC MEMBRANE BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT SYSTEM AND PROCESS
Provided is a biochar-anaerobic membrane biological treatment system and process. The system mainly includes a reaction tank, a membrane module, a macroporous gas distribution device, low-temperature pyrolysis biochar. The application of the process to sewage treatment shows that: under the conditions that the hydraulic retention time is 3.2-7.2 h, the membrane flux is 12.0-17.8 L/m.sup.2/h, and the sludge concentration of 7.2-15.6 g/L, multiple objectives of promoting organic micropollutants (OMPs) biotransformation, accelerating methane production and strengthening membrane fouling control were achieved. The system improved OMPs removal efficiency by more than 20%, decreased membrane fouling rate by 50%, and reaching an organic matter removal efficiency of more than 86% at low temperature. The system and process solve the problems of poor OMPs removal efficiency, serious membrane fouling, and low methane yield at low temperature in the anaerobic membrane biological treatment system.
A ternary sewage treatment method integrating microbial fuel cells with anaerobic acidification and forward osmosis membrane
The invention relates to a ternary sewage treatment method integrating microbial fuel cells with anaerobic acidification and forward osmosis membrane, and belongs to the technical field of sewage treatment. The method of the invention comprises the following steps:
Sewage is driven into the anaerobic acidification device for mixture with the NaOH solution. The mixed liquid enters into the MFC for converting the enriched organics to bioelectricity and then flows back to the anaerobic acidification device. A part of the mixed liquid passes through the MF membrane module to form effluent and enters into the sedimentation basin for phosphate removal and finally passes through activated carbon adsorption column, another part passes through the FO membrane module to form effluent and obtain high quality recycled water after the RO membrane processing. The method is a new coupled model of FO membrane and MFC and it provide a ternary combined technique integrating MFCs with anaerobic acidification and FO membrane. The change and accumulation of sewage to organic acids are achieved under anaerobic acid production and FO retention, the electricity generation performance of MFC is improved, and the reuse of reclaimed water is realized by separating of FO and RO membranes. Finally, the wastewater reuse and electricity generation are realized synchronously.
Anaerobic digestion system and method
An anaerobic digestion system may include a material grinding/pulping portion, a hydrolysis portion arranged downstream of the grinding portion, a multiple chamber anaerobic reactor arranged downstream from the hydrolysis portion and including a gas collection and reintroduction system, a collection system for collecting digestate and gas from the anaerobic reactor.
MEANDER SEPTIC TANK
A round meander septic tank includes an elongate baffle that divides the interior space of the tank into two semicircular chambers. Untreated wastewater is introduced to the first chamber through an inlet located near the first end of the baffle. The wastewater flows through the first chamber to a portal at the second end of the baffle and passes through the portal into the second chamber. A wastewater outlet from the tank is located in the second chamber near the first end of the baffle. Wastewater passing through the portal flows through the second chamber to the outlet and out of the tank. The baffle and the shape of the septic tank increase the distance that the wastewater must flow from the inlet to the outlet as compared to a rectangular meander tank with a single baffle.
Multiple Chamber Septic Tank with a Plurality of Large and Small Access Ports
A septic tank system includes a multiple compartmented (or chambered) supplemental tank. The supplemental tank has a cover/lid with a plurality of strategically situated access holes (both small and large ports) for servicing the various chambers from above ground.
Method for treating reducible compound residues using iron-containing bioreactor
An iron containing bioreactor for treating explosive compounds and other organics in contaminated surface water is disclosed. The bioreactor can be located either on-ground or in-ground at a location across which contaminated surface water flows. In one configuration the reactor is made up of (i) indigenous microbes, (ii) acetate, (iii) a low density iron-containing bed, and contains anaerobic zones in at least one portion of the flowpath. The reactor reduces the concentration of explosive compounds to below 10 ppb and also maintains this explosive compound reduction level for a period of at least one year without replenishing the microbes or iron.
System and method for thermophilic anaerobic digester process
An anaerobic digestion system is provided that includes a blend tank operable to control and perform pre-treatment of feedstock. An anaerobic digester is operable to digest the feedstock provided from the blend tank in a totally enclosed oxygen-free environment within a specific temperature range. A bio-mass tank processes liquid digestate from the anaerobic digester. One or more baffles are positioned in the digester, with the one or more baffles providing for plug flow through at least a portion of the digester to create baffled zones that are at least partially operable independently of adjacent baffled zones. A bio-mass tank processes liquid digestate from the anaerobic digester. An energy source is coupled to the anaerobic digester.
