The operating condition in the basin is anoxic and/or anaerobic, and the treatment apparatus arrangement includes at least one mixer machine located in the basin and a variable speed drive operatively connected to the mixer machine. The variable speed drive operates the mixer machine alternately in a Normal Operation Mode, in which an operational speed of the mixer machine is at least the greater of a suspension speed and a process speed, and a Reduced Operation Mode, in which the operational speed of the mixer machine is below the suspension speed. Also described is a treatment apparatus arrangement and a treatment plant, respectively.

INDUCED SLUDGE BED ANAEROBIC REACTOR
20180057381 · 2018-03-01 ·

An induced sludge bed anaerobic reactor includes a vessel in which a septum is positioned to maintain solids in wastewater being treated toward a lower portion of the reactor. The septum is configured to prevent or minimize rising bacteria from exiting the vessel and to minimize clogging of the vessel. A first example septum is disclosed that is based on a linear vane design. A second example septum is disclosed that is based on a concentric vane design. A third example septum is disclosed that is based on a radial vane design that may include one or more sections. Further, septums may be layered one atop another to further minimize rising bacteria from exiting the vessel and to further minimize clogging of the vessel. Finally, a septum is attached to the inside of the vessel so as to allow it to move allowing any clogging waste floating under the septum to exit the vessel.

Systems and methods for installing digester ballast

An enhanced apparatus system and method may be used to facilitate the construction of a processing tank such as an anaerobic digester. The kit may include a cover assembly that can be assembled to form a cover for the processing tank, a side wall assembly that can be assembled to form a side wall for the processing tank, and a plurality of ballast support assemblies. Each ballast support assembly may have a retracted configuration in which the ballast support assembly avoids significantly impeding vertical motion of the ballast block from an initial ballast location to a final ballast location, and a deployed configuration in which the ballast block can be supported by the ballast support assembly in the final ballast location.

A method for treating wastewater comprising subjecting a sulfate containing wastewater to Fe(III) iron dosing in an anaerobic bioreactor containing one or more of an iron reducing bacteria and one or more of a sulfate reducing bacteria, and one or more of a fermentative bacteria, and adjusting a dosage of the Fe(III) iron in the anaerobic bioreactor to achieve a Fe/Sulfate molar ratio that is equal to or greater than 0.50, and removing an effluent from the anaerobic bioreactor that is a treated wastewater. A wastewater treatment system is provided having a wastewater reservoir, a ferric iron solution reservoir, an anaerobic bioreactor, and an effluent reservoir.

MULTIPLE TANK HIGH SOLIDS ANAEROBIC DIGESTER
20170283833 · 2017-10-05 ·

A multi-stage anaerobic digester is designed to treat a high solids, stackable feedstock. The system may also receive a pumpable feedstock such as a slurry or sludge. In a first stage, the digestate circulates in one direction around a raceway such that the digestate may pass a feed inlet multiple times before leaving the first tank. An optional side stream loop withdraws fibrous material from near the top of the raceway and return digestate with chopped fibers, preferably lower and further along the raceway. An outlet from the raceway located near, but upstream of, the feed inlet discharges partially digested substrate to a second stage, which is operated as a stirred tank reactor. The two stages may be provided in a single tank with an internal wall separating a ring shaped outer portion from a cylindrical inner portion. The digester may be operated in a thermophilic temperature range.

PORTABLE RENEWABLE ENERGY MICROGENERATION SYSTEM
20170247278 · 2017-08-31 · ·

A portable renewable energy microgeneration system is disclosed. The system comprises one or more holding tanks that are configured to perform anaerobic digestion on waste in a multi-phase process using bacteria and a controller configured to automatically control the multi-phase process and to re-use the bacteria. The controller re-uses the bacteria by removing at least a portion of the liquid from the waste after anaerobic digestion is performed on the waste and using the at least a portion of the liquid to wet other waste and repeat the multi-phase process.
