ENERGY EFFICIENT WATER PURIFICATION AND DESALINATION
A desalination system that can comprise an inlet, an optional preheating stage, multiple evaporation chambers and optional demisters, product condensers, a waste outlet, one or more product outlets, a nested configuration that facilitates heat transfer and recovery and a control system. The control system can permit operation of the purification system continuously with minimal user intervention or cleaning. The desalination system can operate with any number of pre-treatment methods for descaling, and with degassing systems to eliminate or reduce hydrocarbons and dissolved gases. The system is capable of removing, from a contaminated water sample, a plurality of contaminant types including microbiological contaminants, radiological contaminants, metals, and salts.
FILTRATION SYSTEM FOR PET WATER FOUNTAIN, AND METHOD FOR WATER FILTRATION
A filtration system for a pet water fountain is provided. The filtration system utilizes a pump placed within or along a watering bowl. The water filtration system also utilizes a multi-stage filtering device. In one aspect, the multi-stage filtering device includes a first filtering stage representing copper zinc alloy particles, and a second filtering stage representing granulated activated carbon particles. Each stage may constitute filtering material that is separated into an array of cells residing along a vertical frame or is separated into stages placed in series within a tubular cartridge. A method for filtering water in a pet fountain is also provided herein.
Systems and processes for removing pollutants from water, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and reducing aquatic ecosystem destruction
Methods and systems for removing pollutants from water include one or more filter systems and a hybrid wetland system. Hybrid wetland systems may include a first pipe transporting water from a body of water to a settling tank, a first constructed wetland connected to the settling tank via a second pipe, and a first filter system removing pollutants from water passing through the second pipe. A second filter system is positioned within the first wetland to further remove pollutants. The system also includes a second constructed wetland connected to the first constructed wetland via a third pipe and a water control chamber. Filtered water exiting the first constructed wetland flows through the water control chamber, through the third pipe, and into the second constructed wetland. A fourth pipe extends between the second constructed wetland and the body of water, returning filtered water to the body of water.
APPARATUS AND PROCEDURE FOR CAVITATION WATER PURIFICATION
A cavitation water purification apparatus is fitted with a driving motor, an input stud, and an output stud. The cavitation water purification apparatus includes a blade unit, a ring-shaped rotating part, a case, a stationary part, a shield, and cavitation cavities. The cavitation cavities are lined up on the external coating of the stationary part and the internal coating of the case. The external coating of the rotating part is fitted with numerous cavitation ribs, and the internal coating of the rotating part is fitted with cavitation lines. The blade unit is fitted with blades. A procedure for using the cavitation water purification apparatus is further provided.
Electrically enhanced filter cartridge and methods for its use
A fluid treatment apparatus and related methods involving the use of replaceable treatment cartridges that include a treatment media, wherein the treatment cartridge is electrically enhanced to form regions of differing polarity within the cartridge. The treatment cartridge can include a pair of fixed polarity conductors that can be electrically connected to a power source so as to induce regions of differing polarity within the cartridge. The fluid treatment apparatus can be utilized to treat liquids including aqueous solutions as well as gases such as an air supply by exposing the fluid to the regions of differing polarity.
OPTIMIZED NOZZLE FOR INJECTING PRESSURIZED WATER CONTAINING A DISSOLVED GAS
The present invention concerns a nozzle for injecting pressurized water containing a dissolved gas, said nozzle comprising: a cylindrical intake chamber (20) for said water; a cylindrical expansion chamber (30) comprising a part (301) communicating with said intake chamber (20) by an orifice (401) and an outlet; a diffusion chamber (60) of truncated conical section communicating with the outlet of said expansion chamber (30) and widening out from said expansion chamber;
said nozzle comprising means for putting the stream of water that flows out of said expansion chamber (30) into rotation.
Magnesium-based alloy and use of same in the production of electrodes and the electrochemical synthesis of struvite
A novel magnesium-based alloy is described. The alloy is particularly suitable for the construction of electrodes, especially anodes, that can be used for an electrochemical process, such as the synthesis of struvite. The magnesium-based alloy is an AZXY alloy in which A is aluminium and Z is zinc, X represents the content, expressed in wt. %, of the first element, and Y the content, expressed in wt. %, of the second element. The AZXY alloy according to the invention has 2%≤X≤4% and 0.5%≤Y≤2%, and an iron (Fe) content of less than 0.005%, and preferably less than 0.003%. The anodes constituted by this novel alloy have a much slower corrosion speed and improved performances compared to existing anodes. An electrode cartridge comprising said alloy and suitable for being inserted into an electrolytic reactor so as to form, once assembled, an electrocoagulation unit, is also described.
Systems and methods for controlling evaporative fluid loss
A system for reducing evaporative cooling water losses using an electric and magnetic field inducing device is disclosed. The device influences a liquid's properties including evaporation rate, diffusion, vapor, heat transfer rate, and/or fluid properties. The device comprises a malleable core with notches and electrically conductive windings wrapped around the flexible core around the notches. An insulative coating isolates the windings from the core. The device is pliable and is wrapped and/or attached around a conduit (e.g., a makeup line or pipe or a recirculating line or pipe of an evaporative cooling tower) with flowing fluid and current is passed through the windings to treat the fluid.
Apparatuses and methods for treating, purifying and/or extracting from wastewater
An efficient, cost-effective, and efficacious technique for removing coal ash and other pollutants from waterways, ponds, marshes, holding tanks and other water sources and supplies. An apparatus comprising an open cage including electromagnets and/or permanent magnets and/or electrodes is supplied with electrical power to extract materials such as rare earth elements and/or heavy metals. The materials levitate to the surface, forming a shiny while leaving water substantially free of such materials.
WATER PURIFIER
The water purifier includes a nozzle (9) in a jacket pipe (1). At least one inlet bore (21) connects an inlet-side section of the jacket pipe (1) to a turbulence chamber (19), which is open towards an outlet-side section of the jacket pipe (1). When flowing through the inlet bore (21), a water stream is deflected and is swirled in the turbulence chamber (19). The rotating water stream subsequently passes through the magnetic field of at least one magnet (11). This efficiently prevents deposits of limestone or scale.
