SOLAR POWERED WATER DESALINATOR AND METHOD
20220267172 · 2022-08-25 ·

A water desalinator that employs the use of solar concentration, evaporation and humidification, mimicking the natural hydrological cycle in a closed, modular vessel to produce freshwater from salt, brackish, brines and seawater, and a concentrate stream for further processing. Feed water is received and stored in a basin. Surface humidity is generated by the evaporation of basin water. A lens is used to focus sunlight, tracked the suns path based on biomimicry of a sunflower, on a thermal conductor. The thermal conductor has a rounded side-profile and generates a variable temperature across its radius. Water is pumped from the basin to a sprinkler head to be dripped or sprayed on the thermal conductor to generate water vapour. This water vapour consequently mixes with the air in the reaction vessel to increase system humidity. Humid air is removed from the reaction vessel and condensed in a condenser. Accordingly, the salinity concentration of input water is reduced from the output of the reaction vessel. Multiple reaction vessels or concentrators may be used in tandem to achieve improved performance.

Apparatus and method for applying magnetic fields to fluid flows

Devices and methods are provided for in-line water treatment using strong magnetic fields to influence corrosion, separate toxins, suppress bacteria and bio-fouling, as well as inhibit or greatly reduce mineral scaling due to fluid flow in or around equipment components. For example, a device is provided for applying a magnetic field to a portion of tubing through which a fluid flow, such as water, is conveyed. The device includes a number of links joined together via detachable pivoting connections, such that links may be removed and/or links may be added, thereby allowing a diameter of the device to be adjusted so as to accommodate larger or smaller piping, as necessary, for retrofitting applications. The use of magnetic treatment of fluids such as water may allow extended cycles of operation with higher concentration of mineral salts without the use of chemical scaling suppressants.

Sludge treatment system

A sludge treatment system, comprising a pump (1), an ozone generation device, an ejector (2) and pipe reactors (3). The pump (1), the ozone generation device, the ejector (2) and the pipe reactors (3) are sequentially connected by pipes. An oxygen generator (4) and an ozone machine (5) are arranged within the ozone generation device, and are connected by a pipe. The ozone generation device is used for providing ozone into the pipe reactors (3). The inner surfaces of the pipe reactors (3) are coated with a catalyst layer used for increasing the oxidative capacity of the ozone on the sludge. Spiral fin plates (6) allowing a fluid to generate a spiral flow are arranged within the pipe reactors (3). Also disclosed is a sludge treatment method using the present sludge treatment system. The present system has a high ozone utilization rate, and a low ozone input proportion.

Publicly accessible urban beach entertainment complex with a centerpiece man-made tropical-style lagoon and method for providing efficient utilization of limited use land

A publicly accessible urban beach entertainment complex is disclosed, with a man-made tropical, pristine-clear lagoon as the centerpiece of the complex, with surrounding entertainment, educational, sports, and commercial facilities, the complex having controlled public access and providing the look and feel of a tropical beach with clear waters and sandy beaches. In addition a method for efficiently utilizing facilities and land that are vacant, underutilized, have limited uses, or that are contiguous to or nearby recreational, educational, sports, or commercial venues is disclosed. The method providing a publicly accessible urban beach entertainment complex with a centerpiece man-made tropical-style pristine-clear lagoon. The method allows for generating revenue and increasing efficiency by pairing vacant sites, underutilized sites, limited use land, or sites that are contiguous to entertainment, educational, sports, and/or commercial venues with urban beach entertainment complexes. The complex preferably has a controlled public access, thereby allowing entrance upon payment of a fee.
