Device and use thereof for the UV treatment of fluids
A device for the treatment of fluids has a flow-through housing, a cover, an inlet, a reactor chamber with inner walls, an outlet and UV LED radiation sources directed into the reactor chamber, and also a power supply. The device achieves a high purifying performance with less technical complexity and less installation space and needs only little electrical power. The interior of the reactor chamber has a flow-related design. The radiation sources are arranged in the fluid on or in an inner wall and a rotating fluid vortex is imparted to a fluid flowing through by the flow-related design. The radiation sources radiate radially from the outside inward and/or laterally onto the fluid vortex. At least a partial stream of the fluid in the fluid vortex passes a number of times by the radiation sources before leaving the reactor chamber.
Radiation source cleaning system and module containing same
There is described a cleaning system for a radiation source. The cleaning system comprises: (i) a cleaning chamber housing; (ii) a cleaning cartridge removably disposed in the cleaning chamber housing; and (iii) an endcap element removably coupled to the cleaning chamber housing. The cleaning cartridge comprises a first sealing element and a second sealing element, the first sealing element and the second sealing element configured to provide a substantially fluid tight seal with respect to an exterior surface of the radiation source. A radiation source module and a fluid treatment system comprising the radiation source module are also described.
Apparatus and method for disinfecting fluids
A disinfection apparatus and method is provided for disinfecting a fluid. The apparatus elements define three internal container volumes. Fluid is introduced into an entry volume where its flow is conditioned to reduce splash and slow the fluid flow. The fluid is then channeled into a disinfection volume where a disinfection unit delivers a disinfection agent to the fluid. Finally, the fluid exits the apparatus through an exit volume. In one aspect, a sink-trap is disclosed in which wastewater liquid contacts a pair of diverters. The diverters have conditioned contact surfaces that slows and spreads the liquid flow and reduces liquid splash. The wastewater then passes through a UV chamber in which it is disinfected. The liquid then exits the sink-trap. Advanced self-cleaning apparatus are additionally disclosed to clean and disinfect the sink-trap and trapped wastewater. The entire apparatus operates under computer control.
UV IRRADIATION APPARATUS
The present invention includes a UV-transmissive protective tube accommodated in a pressure-resistant container, a UV lamp accommodated in the protective tube, and a UV-transmissive water passage tube accommodated in the container. Liquid to be treated flows in the water passage tube. The remaining space in the container is filled with a UV-transmissive liquid medium, and UV rays from the UV lamp are radiated to the to-be-treated liquid through the protective tube, the liquid medium, and the water passage tube. The water passage tube is placed in the liquid medium, and thus, pressures inside and outside the water passage tube are substantially equal, in such a manner that the water pressure resistance of the water passage tube is substantially equal to the water pressure resistance of the container, and as a result, there is no need to particularly increase the strength of the water passage tube.
Liquid treatment module with a recirculation flow
A liquid treatment module (2), configured for ultraviolet (UV)-light treatment of a liquid (4) flowing through a first treatment chamber (6) defined as a first elongated circumferential hollow cavity (8) between an outer surface (10) of a first translucent inner sleeve (12) and an inner surface (16) of a first outer sleeve (18) configured to enclose said first translucent sleeve (12). The inner sleeve (12) is arranged to protect and include a UV-light treatment lamp (14). The module comprises a module inlet connection (20) configured to receive liquid to be treated and a module outlet connection (22) configured to expel liquid treated by the liquid treatment module. The module comprises: first liquid flow guiding members (24) configured to guide and direct a liquid flow (26) from said module inlet connection (20) into said first treatment chamber (6), second liquid flow guiding members (28) configured to guide and direct a liquid flow (30) from said first treatment chamber (6) into a second treatment chamber (32), and third liquid flowing guiding members (34) configured to guide and direct a liquid recirculation flow (36) from said second treatment chamber (32) back into the first treatment chamber (6) again.
FLUID STERILIZATION DEVICE
A fluid sterilization device includes: a flow passage tube in which a processing passage where a passing fluid is sterilized is formed; an inflow passage or an outflow passage formed in the flow passage tube; a light source that irradiates the processing passage with ultraviolet light; and a rotating body provided in the processing passage. The rotating body is rotated around a longitudinal direction of the processing passage in response to a flow of the fluid passing through the processing passage and is configured to come into contact with an inner wall of the flow passage tube during rotation.
