DENTAL BULK BLOCK FOR CAD/CAM MACHINING PROCESS AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE SAME
A dental bulk block for a CAD/CAM machining process. The dental bulk block is a glass-ceramic block having a crystalline phase embedded in an amorphous glass matrix. The crystalline phase includes lithium disilicate as a main crystalline phase, no sub-crystalline phase exists, and the crystalline phase has a mean grain size of 0.01 to 1.0 μm and a crystallinity degree of 25 to 45%. The dental bulk block can improve machinability during cutting such as CAD/CAM machining in the state of a high-strength workpiece with high flexural strength, thereby reducing a tool resistance and a wear rate, increasing a tool life span, and reducing edge chipping during a machining process. In addition, a dental restoration with desired translucency variations can be manufactured through a simple process of machining a block and altering post-heat treatment conditions, and thus can be realized with various shades.
Zirconia-toughened glass ceramics
ZrO.sub.2-toughened glass ceramics having high molar fractions of tetragonal ZrO.sub.2 and fracture toughness value of greater than 1.8 MPa.Math.m.sup.1/2. The glass ceramic may also include also contain other secondary phases, including lithium silicates, that may be beneficial for toughening or for strengthening through an ion exchange process. Additional second phases may also decrease the coefficient of thermal expansion of the glass ceramic. A method of making such glass ceramics is also provided.
Process for the preparation of a glass-ceramic blank for dental purposes
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a glass-ceramic blank for dental purposes with lithium silicate as crystal phase, in which lithium silicate blanks that are no longer required and in particular residues thereof are used as starting material and which allows the production of a homogeneous starting glass within a short time.
Glass ceramic for ultraviolet lithography and method of manufacturing thereof
An extreme ultraviolet mask and method of manufacture thereof includes: providing a glass-ceramic block; forming a glass-ceramic substrate from the glass-ceramic block; and depositing a planarization layer on the glass-ceramic substrate.
LITHIUM DISILICATE GLASS-CERAMIC, METHOD FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF AND USE THEREOF
The invention relates to glass-ceramics based on the lithium silicate system which can be mechanically machined easily in an intermediate step of crystallization and, after complete crystallisation, represent a very strong, highly-translucent and chemically-stable glass-ceramic Likewise, the invention relates to a method for the production of these glass-ceramics. The glass-ceramics according to the invention are used as dental material.
CRYSTALLIZABLE LITHIUM ALUMINUM SILICATE GLASS AND GLASS CERAMIC PRODUCED THEREFROM
A lithium aluminum silicate glass ceramic, which, apart from unavoidable impurities, is As2O3-free and Sb2O3-free. The lithium aluminum silicate glass ceramic has keatite as primary crystal phase and a keatite peak temperature TP of the keatite solid solution formation in the range of 980° C. to 1090° C., and the keatite peak temperature TP is determined by dynamic differential calorimetry (DSC) in accordance with DIN 51007:2019-04 at a heating rate of 5 K/min. A ceramization method is also described.
COATED GLASS OR GLASS CERAMIC SUBSTRATE, COATING COMPRISING CLOSED PORES, AND METHOD FOR COATING A SUBSTRATE
Coated glass or glass ceramic substrates having high temperature resistance, high strength, and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The coating includes pores, is fluid-tight and suitable for coating a temperature-resistant, high-strength glass or glass ceramic substrate with a low coefficient of thermal expansion, and to a method for producing such a coated substrate.
DENTAL BULK BLOCK AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
Provided is a dental bulk block made from a glass-ceramic material having a crystalline phase embedded in an amorphous glass matrix. The crystalline phase includes eucryptite and at least one lithium silicate-based crystalline phase selected from the group consisting of lithium metasilicate and lithium disilicate. The dental bulk block is a functionally graded material having a crystalline size gradient with respect to a depth thereof and having no interface at a point of change in main crystalline size gradient value. The bulk block that is heat-treated at 820° C. for 40 minutes exhibits a characteristic peak of a spodumene crystalline phase in an X-ray diffraction analysis result graph unlike the bulk block that is heat-treated at 820° C. for 2 minutes.

An article includes a glass ceramic that has an amorphous silicate glass phase and a crystalline phase including a species of MxWO3 with 0<x<1 and M an intercalated dopant cation. The article further includes an aperture configured to be formed via local heating of a portion of the glass ceramic to a temperature that is above the softening point of the glass ceramic. The aperture comprises constituents of the silicate glass phase and the crystalline phase but is substantially free of the species of MxWO3. A ratio of a transmittance of the aperture to a transmittance of the glass ceramic not subject to the local heating is at least 6,000 with transmittance measured in %/mm at wavelengths from 500 nm to 1100 nm.
