A heated hair brush apparatus. A base plate is disposed at a head portion of a housing and has an upper face and a lower face. A plurality of heating elements each extends from the upper face of the base plate to a terminal end. A heat source is disposed in the compartment for transmitting heat through the heating elements. The heating elements and the base plate define a plurality of bores. A plurality of spacers of a material that has a lower thermal conductivity than the heating elements are each received by one of the bores of the base plate. Each of the spacers taper inwardly along at least a portion of the spacer toward the distal end for wedging the spacer in the bore of the heating element to inhibit movement of the spacer relative to the heating element.

This invention relates to a broom including an elongate handle attached at one end to a head, a plurality of bristles attached to the head on a different side from the handle, and an auxiliary tool portion configured for use in any one or more of the group selected from scraping, cutting and scooping. The auxiliary tool portion is removably attached to the head and/or handle by means of a quick-release mechanism. The quick release mechanism may include a lever, skewer and stop, and the lever having a cam. The auxiliary tool portion may project forwardly from the broom and/or downwardly having a substantially rigid lower edge.

A hair-smoothing tool includes a supporting base, a carpeting structure on or over the supporting base, and optionally bristles and a cushion member. The bristles and the cushion member, if present, are formed on a first surface of the supporting base. The hair-smoothing tool further includes a carpeting structure on either the first surface of the supporting base or an opposite second surface of the supporting base, or both. The carpeting structure, for example, may be a hook structure or a loop structure of a Velcro? hook and loop fastener.

The instant disclosure relates to hair coloring base compositions and developer compositions that can be incorporated into a hair color cartridge, which combines the compositions and dispenses them onto hair. The hair color cartridge includes: (a) one or more hair coloring base compositions and; (b) one or more developer compositions, which can be combined to form an active hair coloring composition and dispensed onto hair. The hair coloring base compositions typically include one or more oxidative dye precursors; one or more alkalizing agents; one or more reducing agents; optionally, one or more cationic conditioning polymers; one or more surfactants; one or more water-soluble solvents; and water. The developer compositions typically include one or more oxidizing agents; one or more surfactants; and water. The unique components and fluid characteristics of the various compositions are such that devices or appliances comprising them accurately combine and dispense the hair coloring base composition(s) with the developer composition(s) in a predetermined ratio with excellent consistency for application to hair.

A hair brush having a handle attached to a head that accommodates a bristle pad with apertures for holding rows of bristle elements. A first type of bristle element or hexagonal bristle has a wide base that culminates in a tapered tip, and a cross-section having a hexagonal configuration. A second type of bristle element or boar hair bristle has a cluster of boar hairs bunched together at a single position or aperture on the bristle pad. The handle of the brush incorporates a tubular lined cavity covered by an end cap. The cavity may be utilized for storage or to accommodate a cleaning apparatus to remove or dislodge accumulated dirt, oil, built-up hair products and strands of hair from the bristle elements and bristle pad of the brush.

Implementations of a hair styling tool with a removable cosmetic jar are provided. The hair styling tool may comprise a styling head connected to an elongated handle by a cylindrical shaft, and a cosmetic jar that is threadedly secured to the base of the handle. The cosmetic jar is configured to store hair cream, lotion, or another cosmetic product therein. In some implementations, the hair styling tool may include a brush portion and a comb portion positioned on opposite sides of the styling head. In this way, depending on the type of hair and/or style, the user may select the appropriate styling tool (i.e., the brush portion or the comb portion) for styling their hair.

A hair brush adapted to impart both a straightening effect and a curling effect on a length of hair includes first and second members. The first member includes a first handle and a first brush head having an inner row of centrally disposed primary teeth, an outer row of bristles mounted on each side of the centrally disposed primary teeth, and a thermal conductive element. The thermal conductive element defines an arcuate surface configured for imparting a curl within a lock of hair. The second member includes a second handle, a second brush head having a second head frame defining a longitudinal channel, and an elongate member having a wiper segment disposed on each side of the longitudinal channel, and configured to engage the length of hair to facilitate one of straightening of the length of hair or removing substances from the length of hair.

A pet grooming tool has a pet engageable portion and a handle portion. The pet engageable portion has a first section of a first brush characteristic and a second section of second brush characteristics different from the first brush characteristic. The handle portion is secured to the pet engageable portion sized for grasping by a human hand. A fur removal mechanism removes fur from the pet engageable portion.

A mascara brush includes from bristles, wherein the bristles have a solid round or oval cross section with a diameter of about 6 mil, a twisted wire core holding the bristles, the twisted wire core includes 11 to 13 bristles per turn (equivalent to 210?270 bristles per standard size of 27 mm?28 mm brush); and the brush has an average brush diameter between 7.4 mm to 8.2 mm.
