A ceramic component included in a plasma etching apparatus, wherein a surface of the ceramic component may include a base material and a composite material disposed in contact with the base material, wherein a resistivity of the ceramic component may be 10.sup.−1 Ω.Math.cm to 20 Ω.Math.cm, and wherein the base material may include a first boron carbide-based material and the composite material may include at least one selected from the group consisting of a second boron carbide-based material, a carbon-based material, and combinations thereof, is disclosed.
SUSPENSION PLASMA SPRAY COMPOSITION AND PROCESS FOR DEPOSITION OF RARE EARTH HAFNIUM TANTALATE BASED COATINGS
Methods for forming a coating on a surface of a substrate are provided. The method can include: preheating the surface of the substrate; spraying a slurry suspension onto the surface of the substrate to form a coating, wherein the slurry composition comprises a rare earth compound, a sintering agent, and a solvent, wherein the rare earth compound has the formula: A.sub.1-bB.sub.bZ.sub.1-dD.sub.dMO.sub.6 where A is Al, Ga, In, Sc, Y, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Fe, Cr, Co, Mn, Bi, or a mixture thereof; b is 0 to 0.5; Z is Hf, Ti, or a mixture thereof; D is Zr, Ce, Ge, Si, or a mixture thereof; d is 0 to 0.5; and M is Ta, Nb, or a mixture thereof; and thereafter, heat treating the coating to densify the coating from an initial porosity to a sintered porosity.
COATING COMPOSITION FOR THE FOUNDRY INDUSTRY, CONTAINING PARTICULATE, AMORPHOUS SILICON DIOXIDE AND ACID
A coating composition is described, for use in the foundry, in particular comprising particulate, amorphous silicon dioxide (SiO.sub.2) and an aqueous phase having a pH of at most 5, and also coated, waterglass-bound foundry molding elements, especially coated, waterglass-bound foundry molds and foundry cores, which each comprise a coating composition of the invention. Further described is the use of a coating composition of the invention for producing a coating on a waterglass-bound foundry molding element and a method for producing a waterglass-bound foundry molding element (mold or core) coated with a water-containing refractory coating. Likewise specified is a kit whose contents include a coating composition of the invention.
CMAS-RESISTANT ENVIRONMENTAL BARRIER COATING SYSTEM
An article may include a substrate, such as a silicon-containing ceramic matrix composite, an environmental barrier coating (EBC) layer on the substrate, and a CMAS-resistant EBC layer on the EBC layer. The EBC layer may include at least one rare-earth disilicate (REDS). The CMAS-resistant EBC layer may include at least one rare-earth monosilicate (REMS) configured to react with CMAS to form crystalline reaction products. The CMAS-resistant EBC layer may include a plurality of vertical cracks extending from a surface of the CMAS-resistant EBC layer at least partially into the CMAS-resistant EBC layer. Additionally, or alternatively, the EBC layer may include a plurality of vertical cracks extending from a surface of the EBC layer into at least a portion of the EBC layer.

An electronic device includes a first image sensor, a second image sensor, one or more image processing modules, and a display. The first image sensor generates first image data. The second image sensor generates second image data. The one or more image processing modules process one or more image data among the first image and the second image data. The display displays the one or more image data among the first image data or second image data processed by the one or more image processing modules. The thumbnail generation module generates thumbnail data using the one or more image data among the first image data and second image data processed by the one or more image processing modules. A method includes converting the plurality of image data into a format displayable on a display, and generating thumbnail data using the image data of the displayable format.

A part includes a substrate having, adjacent to a surface of the substrate, at least a portion that is made of a material that contains silicon, and an environmental barrier formed on the surface of the substrate, the environmental barrier including a first layer including at least one first rare earth silicate and presenting grains with a mean size less than or equal to 1 μm; and a second layer covering the first layer, the second layer including at least one rare earth silicate and presenting grains with a mean size greater than 1 μm.

The present disclosure provides a method for coating a composite structure, comprising forming a first slurry by combining a first pre-slurry composition comprising a first phosphate glass composition, with a primary flow modifier and a first carrier fluid, wherein the primary flow modifier comprises at least one of cellulose or calcium silicate; applying the first slurry on a surface of the composite structure to form a base layer; and heating the composite structure to a temperature sufficient to adhere the base layer to the composite structure.

An automated preparation method of a SiC.sub.f/SiC composite flame tube, comprising the following steps: preparing an interface layer for a SiC fiber by a chemical vapor infiltration process, and obtaining the SiC fiber with a continuous interface layer; laying a unidirectional tape on the SiC fiber with the continuous interface layer and winding the SiC fiber with the continuous interface layer to form and obtaining a preform of a net size molding according to a fiber volume and a fiber orientation obtained in a simulation calculation; and adopting a reactive melt infiltration process and the chemical vapor infiltration process successively for a densification and obtaining a high-density SiC.sub.f/SiC composite flame tube in a full intelligent way. The SiC.sub.f/SiC composite flame tube prepared by the present disclosure not only has a high temperature resistance, but also has a low thermal expansion coefficient, high thermal conductivity and high thermal shock resistance.

A chamber component comprises a body and a plasma sprayed ceramic coating on the body. The plasma sprayed ceramic coating is applied using a method that includes feeding powder comprising a yttrium oxide containing solid solution into a plasma spraying system, wherein the powder comprises a majority of donut-shaped particles, each of the donut-shaped particles having a spherical body with indentations on opposite sides of the spherical body. The method further includes plasma spray coating the body to apply a ceramic coating onto the body, wherein the ceramic coating comprises the yttrium oxide containing solid solution, wherein the donut-shaped particles cause the ceramic coating to have an improved morphology and a decreased porosity as compared to powder particles of other shapes, wherein the improved surface morphology comprises a reduced amount of surface nodules.
