To form, on a ceramic member or a metal member, a thermal spray ceramic coating film which achieves both the quality of a ceramic coating film and gas barrier property, and with which a composite oxide having a melting point lower than the ambient temperature will not form when used as a coating film on a ceramic member or a metal member constituting a glass article manufacturing apparatus. A ceramic coating film-provided member comprising a ceramic member or a metal member and a thermal spray ceramic coating film formed on at least a part of the surface of the ceramic member or the metal member, wherein the thermal spray ceramic coating film contains Al.sub.2O.sub.3 and 12CaO.7Al.sub.2O.sub.3, and the weight ratio of CaO to Al.sub.2O.sub.3 (CaO/Al.sub.2O.sub.3) is more than 0.11 to 0.50.

Inkjet inks for ceramic tile decoration

Solvent-based pigmented ceramic inkjet ink compositions including a solvent blend consisting predominantly of one or more hydrophobic solvent(s) (preferably one or more hydrophobic long chain hydrocarbon solvent(s)) are capable of achieving superior print quality when applied over unfired glazes by the inclusion of less than 10% by weight of the composition of a water-soluble solvent, especially glycol ethers. These ink compositions are particularly suited to ceramic tile decoration via the double fast firing process, with resulting improvements in absorption, color strength and print definition.

Compositions and methods for refractory coatings with ester carriers

This technology relates to refractory coatings used in metal casting by the foundry industry. Refractory coatings are often used to coat foundry cores and molds for the purpose of improving the quality of castings formed in connection with the cores or molds, particularly at the surface of the casting. Whereas traditional coatings comprise water based solvents that require excessive drying times or HAPs that emit hazardous VOCs, preferred embodiments of the present invention comprise refractory coatings having VOC-exempt ester based solvents, such as DMC. Other preferred embodiments of the present invention comprise methods for reduction of VOC content in a foundry article.
