Hairbrush bristles become filled with hair and accumulate residue. It is difficult, if not practically impossible, to clean the brush because of the close proximity of the bristles. An invention is claimed herein which enables the bristles to be moved apart such that there is sufficient clearance to easily clean them.

A hair tie extraction implement adapted to remove hair ties and/or elastomeric bands entangled with hair from the head of a wearer. The hair tie extraction implement comprises a grippable shank, a hook, a razor blade, and an outwardly rising bill.

The present invention is concerned with a hair brush. The hair brush has an elongate profile defining a first longitudinal axis, and has a handle portion in the form of a stick sharing the first longitudinal axis and provided with a proximal end and an distal end, and the hair brush further has a utility portion extending from the distal end of the handle portion for engaging the hair and the scalp of a user during use. The utility portion has a first floating finger and a second floating finger forking off from the distal end of the handle portion and arranged at opposite lateral ends of thereof, and at least one third floating finger arranged between the first and second floating fingers. At least one or both the first and second floating fingers are free of brushing members.

A backcombing brush for backcombing hair includes an array of bristles 4. Each bristle extends from a base to a free end and two lengths of bristle are provided. Shorter bristles 4a and the bottom of longer bristles 4b carry out backcombing, whilst the longer bristles smooth hair, or untangle knots/tangles in the hair to reduce the level of backcombing. The long bristles have a relatively wide first portion 5, towards the base of the bristle, and a relatively narrow second portion 6, towards the free end of the bristle. The bristles are arranged such that bristles in one row neither extend between adjacent bristles in an adjacent row nor partially occlude the space between bristles in an adjacent row.

The dual tank beard care multi-tool disclosed herein is intended to be carried by a user and provide a mobile source of beard care grooming tools. The device provides two distinct tanks, one for oils and one for balms, and a plurality of tools required by beard wearers. Among these tools may be a switched beard comb, which may be manually or semi-automatically switched so that a user may carry the device without the comb teeth being exposed. A hair care device (B) comprises an ion generator (I), and a grounding protrusion protruding from the hair care device (B). When the hair care device comprises a sensor (MP), and ancillary elements (AE, G) for guiding hair to or along the sensor (MP), the grounding protrusion advantageously includes at least one of the ancillary elements (AE, G).

An attachment for a hair dryer that is movable between a first position and a second position in order to alter one or more characteristics of the airflow therethrough. In one embodiment, an attachment having multiple facets and types of projections with varying stiffness are provided on an outer housing that can be rotated relative to a base by the user. In a second embodiment, an attachment having a concave surface with prongs extending therethrough that can be moved such that the exposed portion of the prongs are lengthened or shortened, as desired.

A controller of the personal care device drive unit generates an output signal associated with the selected one of the functional units connected to the main body in dependence on a sensed motor current and a sensed vibration occurring in the main body. The use of both vibration sensing and current sensing (which detects the electrical motor load resulting from driving the selected one of the functional units connected to the main body) enables multiple different functional units to be identified more reliably.

A hair brush for use in a hairdressing store, a beauty shop, or at home, is able to easily and freely create a hair style by arranging flexible brush pins to a brush pedestal of the hairbrush so that the hair is easily entangled around the brush portion. The brush pedestal is further provided with a large number of hot air injection holes to inject hot air generated by a heater and a fan formed at an inside of the brush pedestal. Thus, hair styling using the hot air by one-handed operation is possible. Further, since the brush pedestal is heated by receiving the heat generated by the heater, the brush pedestal in contact with the hair becomes hot and thus an iron effect at the time of hair styling can be obtained.
