Bristle for an Oral Care Implement
A bristle for an oral care implement and an oral care implement including a plurality of such bristles. The bristle may include a body extending along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end to a distal end, the body having tapered portion having a transverse cross-sectional profile with a perimeter defined by a first linear section and a second linear section that intersect to form a first apex, a third linear section and a fourth linear section that intersect to form a second apex, a first curved section extending between the first and third linear sections, and a second curved section extending between the second and fourth linear sections. The body may also include a cylindrical body portion such that the tapered portion extends from a top end of the cylindrical body portion. The bristle includes various edges and rounded contours for enhanced cleaning.
Oral care implement and monofilament bristle for use with the same
A monofilament bristle (211) including: a body portion (215); a tip portion (217) extending from the body portion (215) and comprising a multi-lobed transverse cross-section (221), the monofilament bristle (211) extending along a longitudinal axis (219); co-extruded first and second components, the first component being a first color and forming a first lobe (223a) of the multi-lobed transverse cross-section (221), the second component being a second color, which is different from the first color, and forming a second lobe (223b) of the multi-lobed transverse cross-section (221); and each of the first and second components forming a longitudinal section of the body portion (215), with an interface between the first and second components extending substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis (219).
System of packaged oral care implements
A color coded oral care implement packaging system. In one embodiment, the system includes a first packaged oral care implement that includes a package and an oral care implement having a tooth cleaning element field with a first characteristic positioned within the package. The system also includes a second packaged oral care implement that includes a package and an oral care implement having a tooth cleaning field with a second characteristic positioned within the package. The first package includes a first designated area being color coded with a first color selected to represent the first characteristic. The second package includes a second designated area being color coded with a second color selected to represent the second characteristic.
Cosmetic brush fiber having triangular cross section
Disclosed is a new fiber which has a triangular cross section, and which may be used as a substitute for animal hair with comparable pickup and other properties. The disclosure also relates to methods for providing same.
COSMETIC APPLICATOR WITH REPELLENT SURFACES
Applicators for applying products to a surface are described. Typically, the surfaces are keratinous surfaces and the applicators are capable of holding a charge of cosmetic composition in on some of its surfaces while also capable of repelling that cosmetic composition on other surfaces. With such dual capabilities, the cosmetic applicators are able to provide enhanced functionality to the applicator.
Oral care implement and monofilament bristle for use with the same
A monofilament bristle (200) is disclosed that comprises coextruded core (210) and sheath components (220). The sheath component (220) has an outer surface (218) and surrounds a first portion (215) of the core component (210). A second portion (216) of the core component (210) protrudes from a top terminal end (203) of the sheath component (220) to form an exposed tip portion (203). In one embodiment, the exposed tip portion (203) of the core component (210) has an outer surface (217) that includes friction-enhancing features. In another embodiment, the exposed tip portion (203) is tapered and has an outer surface (217) with a first roughness and the outer surface (218) of the sheath component (220) has a second roughness, the second roughness being greater than the first roughness. In a further embodiment, the core component (210) has an outer surface (217) configured to have higher coefficient of friction than the outer surface (218) of the sheath component (220). In other embodiments, an oral care implement (100) including one or more of the monofilaments described herein is disclosed.
WIRE-CORE APPLICATOR HAVING MULTI-MATERIAL BRISTLES
A mascara brush having a centre made of at least two wire sections twisted together along a longitudinal axis of the wire core, and having a bristle covering made of plastic bristles formed by filaments, each of which bristles is held in a clamping manner between the two wire sections, and which bristles are formed with a wedge-shaped bristle tip or without a wedge-shaped bristle tip on their free ends. At least one portion of the bristles has a bristle coating made of a first softer material, and a bristle core that is joined to the bristle coating and made of a second harder material, and at least these bristles have a transverse cut, in the form of a simple wedge, on one side or on two sides, at least partially on their radially outward free ends, and comprise a wedge-shaped bristle tip having at least one cut surface forming a wedge.
Oral care implement
An oral care implement having an arrangement of different types of cleaning elements. Specifically, in one embodiment the oral care implement includes a head and a plurality of tooth cleaning elements. The tooth cleaning elements include a plurality of inclined bristle tufts that are circumferentially arranged about a reference ring. The inclined bristle tufts extend from the head so as to converge towards a reference axis with increasing distance from the head. The tooth cleaning elements also include an elastomeric member extending from the head within the reference ring. The elastomeric member may be conical in shape and have an inclined outer surface. In some embodiments the elastomeric member may include two components that are separated by a gap, and a central cleaning element may be located within the gap.
Brush head and electric toothbrush
A brush head for an electric toothbrush comprises an attachable housing and a carrier having a mounting side and mounted for driven oscillatory rotational motion around a rotation axis that extends through a center point on the carrier's mounting side. Each of the tufts has a tufting area of at least about 2.0 mm.sup.2. Filaments in each of the tufts have a cross-sectional area perpendicular to their length extension direction that corresponds to a circular cross sectional area having a diameter in the range of between 140 m and 102 m, wherein the brush head comprises only tufts of the defined type.
BRUSH HEAD FOR A TOOTHBRUSH AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE BRUSH HEAD
The brush head of the toothbrush has filaments that are pointed at one end and led through clearances in the bristle carrier. These filaments have a length of about 10-20 mm. The tips of the pointed filaments produce a height profile other than that of a plane and the ends of the pointed filaments that are remote from the tips are melted.
