SWITCHABLE ADHESIVE COMPOSITIONS
This invention relates to polyurethane-based pressure sensitive adhesive compositions that comprise curable moieties. The adhesive compositions are “switchable” from a tacky state to a non-tacky state by initiating curing of the curable moieties. The adhesive compositions comprise the reaction product of: (A) a polymer component containing at least 2 nucleophilic functional groups containing an active hydrogen atom; and (B) a crosslinking component that is obtainable by reacting a polyisocyanate component and a ompound comprising a functional group that is curable by free-radical polymerisation and further comprising a nucleophilic functional group containing an active hydrogen atom.
ISOCYANATE-AMINE-BASED CHEMICAL ANCHOR WITH IMPROVED PERFORMANCE, AND USE THEREOF
A multi-component resin system can be used for producing a mortar composition based on isocyanate amine adducts for the chemical fastening of construction elements. A mortar composition based on isocyanate amine adducts can be produced from the multi-component resin system. A method can be used for the chemical fastening of construction elements in mineral substrates with the mortar composition based on the isocyanate amine adducts.

An electrocoat system for electrodeposition is described. The system includes an inorganic bismuth-containing compound or a mixture of inorganic and organic bismuth-containing compounds. The system demonstrates a high degree of crosslinking and produces a cured coating with optimal crosslinking and corrosion resistance.
Use of toughness improvers for increasing the maximum linear expansion of single-component heat-curing epoxy resin compositions
Methods in which toughness improvers based on terminally blocked polyurethane prepolymers are used to increase the maximum linear expansion of single component heat-curing epoxy resin compositions, in particular for joining substrates having different thermal expansion coefficients, in particular in the framework of transport agents or white goods.
COATING COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS WITH POLYFUNCTIONAL CARBAMATE SALT
A latent base catalyst and compositions and methods involving latent base-catalyzed Michael addition reaction are described herein. The described latent base catalyst is a substituted carbamate salt. The compositions described herein are derived from a Michael addition reaction and provide coatings, including primer coatings and direct-to-metal coatings, which have optimal potlife and cure response, and also demonstrate optimal adhesion, corrosion resistance, and weatherability when applied to a substrate and cured.
Environmentally biodegradable microcapsules
Disclosed is a composition including controlled release particles, wherein each of the controlled release particles includes: (a) a core including at least one hydrophobic active ingredient; and (b) a wall at least partially surrounding the core and including the reaction products of: (i) an organofunctional silane; (ii) an epoxy; (iii) an amine; (iv) an isocyanate; (v) an epoxide curing agent; wherein the controlled release particles are effective to retain the at least one hydrophobic active ingredient upon exposure to water and effective to release the at least one hydrophobic active ingredient in response to friction. A method for preparing the composition is also disclosed.
MOISTURE-CURABLE ADHESIVE COMPOSITIONS
The present disclosure relates to a process of manufacturing a moisture-curable adhesive composition, wherein the process comprises the steps of: a) providing a multi-screw extruder comprising a reaction chamber; b) providing reactants and reagents comprising: i. at least one isocyanate; ii. at least one amine; and iii. optionally, at least one plasticizer; c) incorporating the reactants and reagents into the reaction chamber of the multi-screw extruder, thereby forming a reaction product comprising a urea derivative; and d) incorporating at least one moisture-curable prepolymer into the reaction product resulting from step c), thereby forming a moisture-curable adhesive composition. In another aspect, the present disclosure is directed to a moisture-curable adhesive composition obtainable by the process as described above.
Fluorinated, Alkoxysilyl-Functional Polymer for Anti-Stain and Anti-Scratch Coatings
The invention relates to a fluorinated, alkoxysilyl-functional polymer, obtainable by a method comprising the steps of: a) reacting an OH-functional (per)fluoropolyether (PFPE) with a polyisocyanate A under urethane formation reaction conditions, to obtain an isocyanate-functional intermediate B, b) reacting intermediate B with a secondary, alkoxysilyl-functional monoamine C, to obtain the alkoxysilyl-functional polymer. The polymer can be used as an additive in preparation of a coating with easy-clean, anti-stain and anti-scratch properties, which can advantageously be used for coating various substrates in consumer electronics or automotive applications such as glass, metal, metal alloy, anodized substrates, plastics, composite etc.
