CURABLE COATING COMPOSITIONS

Disclosed herein are curable compositions comprising an epoxide-functional polymer and a curing agent that reacts with the epoxide-functional polymer that is activatable by an external energy source. The epoxide-functional polymer may be a solid a solid epoxide-functional polyurethane comprising a di-isocyanate. Also disclosed are articles comprising one of the compositions in an at least partially cured state positioned between first and second substrates. Also disclosed are methods of forming an adhesive on a substrate.

Provided is a carbodiimide-based, waterborne resin crosslinking agent that can improve the storage stability of a waterborne resin composition including a waterborne resin together with the crosslinking agent and further also improve the water resistance and the solvent resistance of a cured product of the waterborne resin. A waterborne resin crosslinking agent-containing liquid and a waterborne resin composition are prepared using a waterborne resin crosslinking agent comprising a hydrophobic polycarbodiimide compound and a water-soluble organic compound as blending components, wherein the water-soluble organic compound is one or more selected from the group consisting of an alkylene glycol-based compound, a water-soluble polymer other than the alkylene glycol-based compound, and a surfactant other than the alkylene glycol-based compound or the water-soluble polymer.

An embodiment includes a system comprising a thermoset polyurethane shape memory polymer (SMP) foam that includes at least one antimicrobial agent. The antimicrobial agent may include at least one phenolic acid that is a pendent group chemically bonded to a polyurethane polymer chain of the SMP foam. Other embodiments are described herein.

Reactive hydroxylated and carboxylated polymers for use as adhesion promoters

A polymer complex is disclosed which is the reaction product of one or more polymers having a terminal or pendant hydroxyl group, or a terminal or pendent carboxyl group, or combinations thereof, with at least one metal complex and one alkyl phosphate. This polymer complex acts as an adhesion promotion agent as well as a viscosity stabilizer when formulated in a printing ink or coating.
