SILANE MODIFIED POLYMERS AND USE OF THE SAME IN ADHESIVE COMPOSITIONS
Disclosed is a moisture curable silane modified terpolymer comprising a polyether segment, a segment of polytetrahydrofuran or polycarbonate, a polysiloxane segment and terminal amino silane groups joined to the terpolymer via urethane linkages and wherein the polyether segment comprises at least 70% by weight based on the total weight of the silane modified terpolymer. Also disclosed is a method of forming moisture curable silane modified terpolymer.
Block copolymers and self-assembling nanoparticles formed therefrom
The subject matter of this invention relates to block copolymers (BCPs) and, more particularly, to block copolymers capable of self-assembly into nanoparticles for the delivery of hydrophobic cargos. The BCPs include a hydrophobic block that contains a thioether functional group that is susceptible to oxidation, transforming the solubility of the block from hydrophobic to hydrophilic, thereby releasing the hydrophobic cargo of the nanoparticle.
FUNCTIONALIZED BILE ACIDS FOR THERAPEUTIC AND MATERIAL APPLICATIONS
The subject disclosure is directed to functionalized bile acids, preparation thereof, and usage thereof for therapeutic and material applications. In one embodiment, a method of generating functionalized bile acid materials can comprise directly activating a carboxylic acid of a bile acid compound using a coupling agent comprising an amide or ester compound, thereby generating an intermediate bile acid derivative material. The method can further comprise attaching a functional group material to the intermediate bile acid derivative material by reacting the functional group material and the intermediate bile acid derivative material, thereby generating a functionalized bile acid material.
Polymeric DHA-containing biodegradable compositions and surgical barrier devices made thereof
Polymer compositions having the following chemical structure: wherein L.sup.1 represents a polymeric linker having the structure shown connecting ethylene oxide oligomers and their use in surgical devices containing the above composition is also described.
BIODEGRADABLE HYDROGEL AND METHODS FOR USE THEREOF
The subject matter of this invention relates to hydrogel compositions and, more particularly, to hydrogel compositions comprising block copolymers (BCPs) capable of self-assembly into nanoparticles for the delivery and controlled release of therapeutic cargos.
Functionalized bile acids for therapeutic and material applications

In one embodiment, a method of generating functionalized bile acid materials can comprise directly activating a carboxylic acid of a bile acid compound using a coupling agent comprising an amide or ester compound, thereby generating an intermediate bile acid derivative material. The method can further comprise attaching a functional group material to the intermediate bile acid derivative material by reacting the functional group material and the intermediate bile acid derivative material, thereby generating a functionalized bile acid material.
POLYCARBONATE BLOCK COPOLYMERS AND METHODS THEREOF
The present disclosure relates to block copolymers comprising, and methods of making thereof, a polycarbonate chain linked to a hydrophilic polymer. Such block copolymers may have the formula B-A-B, where A is a polycarbonate or polyethercarbonate chain and B is a polyether. Provided methods are useful in reducing the amount of waste generated from the synthesis of polycarbonates and provide improved thermal stability and high primary hydroxyl content. Provided block copolymers also have utility as additives in enhanced oil recovery methods, and foam polymer applications.
POLYCARBONATE BLOCK COPOLYMERS
The disclosure pertains to amphiphilic block copolymers comprising an aliphatic polycarbonate chain coupled to a hydrophilic polymer. Such amphiphilic polymers may have the formula A-L-B, where A- is a polycarbonate or polyethercarbonate chain having from about 3 to about 500 repeating units, L is a linker moiety and B is a hydrophilic oligomer having from about 4 to about 200 repeating units. Provided copolymers are useful as surfactants capable of emulsifying aqueous solutions and supercritical carbon dioxide. Provided copolymers also have utility as additives for use in enhanced oil recovery methods.
POLYMER COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS
